At Omuta High School, one of its educational principles is to understand foreign culture and language. In accordance to this principle, the excursion trips to Australia were started from 1992. But with the Olympic Games at Sydney in 2000, the excursion program had to be changed.
From 1998, plans for another location for the excursion trip program began and the possibility of a trip to Europe was looked into.
Inquiry members were sent to EABJM School, Paris. Consequently the trip to Europe as an excursion trip was given up but the exchange program was started.
At present, Omuta has accepted exchange students from EABJM three times, totaling 69 students, while Omuta has sent 70 in their previous trips.
Although there are differences in culture and language, the relationship between us is getting better and we hope that this program will continue eternally.
