About Us "Against the Amendment of Article Nine, Kinokawa"
was founded in 2005. We are the dwellers of northern part of Wakayama-shi Wakayama
Japan, who eagerly desire to wage Peace. So, we are strongly against the reviewing of the Japanese
Peaceful Constitution. We work for widespreading the "An
Appeal from the Article Nine Association" and for turning back
the rising scheme to amend the Japanese Peaceful Constitution. Our message to the people in the
world First of all, we'd like to apologize-- as a Japanese citizen--
to Chinese, Koreans, other Asians, and people throughout the world for
the massacres, sex slaves, the horrendous experiments on human beings,
and other atrocities committed by Japanese troops before and during World
War II. Learning from the past, we have endeavored to make Japan a
peaceful nation. The Constitution is our pledge not to become offender
any more to other courtiers. So we are very proud of the Japanese Peace
Constitution under which no Japanese soldiers had been dispatched abroad
until just several years ago. But now the Peace Constitution, in particular Article 9, is
in peril because of the repeated mal-interpretations by the government
and pressures to amend it from the hawks in positions of power in Japan
as well as the government of the United States. The reactions to the attacks on September 11 and the Deployment
of the MD-Missile Defense- Initiative have made this situation worse. Peace Constitution Article 9 prohibits collective self-defense.
This means Co-deployment of MD system is literally unconstitutional. So.
There is strong pressure to amend the article from the U.S. And, war-renouncing
article 9 is really at stake. If Japan doesn't amend article 9, it is really difficult for
the U.S. to go next stage of MD, in particular north Asia region. Japan also had the policy of banning export of arms, based
on the spirit of the Constitution of Japan and the Foreign Exchange and
Foreign Trade Control Law, the export of arms to other countries had been
prohibited until last year. But, Keidanren Japanese -Business Federation; Head is Hiroshi
Okuda, chairman of Toyota Motor Corp.-called for Tokyo to review the restriction
regarding arms exports to the U.S. and its allies. Keidanren said that
if they could export weapons, the price of weapon went down …. They just
wanted to expand their business. They were not concerning what would happen
in the world. Obviously their action is closely related to their strategy
of economical globalization backed by military power. Japan is spending huge amount of money for military force.
It used about US$42.6billion in FY 2002. This is 4.4% of global total
and 4th largest budget in the world. Also Japanese companies produce large
amount of arms. 10 Japanese companies are listed in the top 100 military
industries in the world. As mentioned above Japanese government, hawkish politicians-unfortunately,
they take majority in the both Houses-, and big industries including military
industries want to get rid of Article 9 to make Japan a strong country
backed by military power. They also intend to join the collective defense
with U.S. and dispatch SDF-Self Defense Force-abroad whenever Washington
or Tokyo want. We think that Japan is a relatively peace nation even now.
Actually overwhelming majority of Japanese think Japan should be a peaceful
country, and should not send SDF abroad. But LDP-Liberal Democratic Party-and Japanese government
advocate the necessity of amendment of article 9 on the pretext of international
contribution, repeatedly through TV, other medias, city offices, sometimes
schools and communities. Unfortunatery a flood of misleading advocacy
makes many people accept the deception of hawkish people. We are really concerning about this situation. Article Nine
Associations released "An
Appeal from the Article Nine Association" last year. The association
was founded last year by nine famous intellects including Nobel laureate.
Many civilians, organs including us support this appeal, and acting eagerly
to widespread it.. We hope you understand why we advocate loudly not reviewing
the Japanese Peaceful Constitution. At last we eagerly hope All Nations will have WAR-RENOUNCING
CONSTITUTION and get rid of MILITARY FORCE as soon as possible. Contact us
