About JapaneseBobtail
JapaneseBobtail is the only pureblood cat that has the origin in Japanese cat.
Legs are long and slender, and body is lean and elegant.
Coat is silky and smooth touch.
The almost equilateral triangle head has high cheekbones,
egg-shaped large eyes, and large wide apart-placed ears.
Almost all coat colors are recognized, but most popular color is Mi-ke.
(Mi-ke = Try-Colors, Tortoiseshell & White. Girls only.).
The dramatic color pattern is liked in this breed.
It seems to have painted by vivid color on pure white ceramic.
The greatest characteristic of JapaneseBobtail is their unique tails.
I call this lovely tail "rabbit tail", at oversea, it is called "pom-pom tail".
This short tail has some kinks of tail bones.
It is caused by heredity (recessive heredity),
not caused by the injury nor man-made cutting.
Maybe some kinds of Bobtail cats--caused by natural genesis?--
had been existed for long centuries in Eurasia continent and Asia.
We can still find Bobtail or Shorttail cats at traveler's diaries
or photo books that are about Asia.
Japan is the islands located in the edge most of the Eurasian Continent.
So this minority genes appear more frequently than other districts, I think.
It has been a familiar tail for many Japanese people,
but it was unusual and very attractive tail for American or European people.
After the war, some cat lovers had taken Japanese cats to USA,
and they worked passionately for authorization as pureblood.
Now, there are many Bobtail lovers in all over the world.
JapaneseBobtail is the beautiful, friendly and calm cat,
and we Japanese are able to be proud of to the world.
