Launched on 8 June 2005 the National Pre-school Education Program

The National Pre-school Education program which includes pre-school education for all five-year olds, is one of President Arroyo¡Çs 10-point pro-poor legacy agenda, denominated as "Education for All."

In her State of the Nation Address in July 2004, the President said there is a need to standardize what is taught in Barangay Day Care centers. She thus pushed for the formal incorporation of pre-school training in the education ladder scheme to encourage early childhood development.(°Ê²¼Î¬)
