Table lamp & Glass shade - 1

Most of the information of glass shade is derived from Coleman Catalogue.
Thanks to David Jahn, Fred Kuntz and George Rocen for their kind help to identify glass shades.

Here is a Coleman Model R Reading Lamp and is quoted from Ron & Charleen Becker's collection with their permission.

This Model was made from 1909 -1916 and the factory records show that there were 19,708 lamps shipped.
Thanks Ron & Charleen.

The left is a Coleman Air-O-Lite "Model A" table lamp and the right is is an early Coleman Air-O-Lite "Model M" table lamp. Both are quoted from George Rocen's collection with his permission.
Thanks George.

This is a Coleman Model P Chandelier with an Air-O-Lite font and is quoted from George Rocen's collection with his permission.

He supposes this is the way this lamp came from the factory because it has larger fittings on top of the font to accomodate the burner assembly whereas the Air-O-Lite lamp had small fittings.

Thanks George.

This is a Coleman 103K chandelier and is quoted from Neil McRae's collection with his permission. It was made in Canada in 1939 and fitted with #321 glass shade. These are quite rare and he said he had only ever seen two. Thanks Neil. The right image is from a catalogue effective Sep. 1941, Toronto, Canada.

This Bracket lamp is a Canadian Coleman "Model 102K" and is quoted from Bernard Rousseau's collection with his permission.
Thanks Bernie.

This is a Coleman pendant lamp and is quoted from Vic Tipman's collection with his permission.
The comment below is from Vic.

Originally, it had a tank that hung upside down, and the lamp was suspended from the ceiling. It was not a really good lamp, I assume that it was gravity fed, so an enterprising salesman has adapted this one with the Model 228 tank, which is dated 1935. It is a little scarce, I know of another one in Victoria.

Thanks Vic.

The left is a Model #10 "Nulite Favorite" table lamp with a Coleman #324 glass shade and the right is a CQ329 table lamp with a #333 bug screen. Both are quoted from Atsuhito Watanabe's collection with his permission. Thanks Atsuhito.

The left shade is a Coleman #318 and the right one is a Coleman #324. Both are quoted from Atsuhito Watanabe's collection with his permission. Thanks Atsuhito.

Canadian Coleman CQ table lamp with a Coleman #318 glass shade.

This CQ lamp has an old sunrise mark and date code 26-2 (Feb. 1926) on the side of its nickel plated brass fount. And was stamped "Coleman CQ QUICK-LITE made in Canada by Coleman Lamp CO LTD Toronto" on the bottom of the fount. Its fuel control knob is different from US-made model.

US-made Coleman CQ table lamp with an AGM glass shade. Unfortunately I've not confirmed the shade number yet. If you have any information regarding AGM's glass shade, please let me know. This CQ lamp has an old sunrise mark and date code 4-10 (Oct. 1924) on the side of its nickel plated brass fount. And was stamped "Coleman CQ QUICK-LITE made in USA Coleman Lamp CO Wichita Kansas" on the bottom of the fount.

Canadian Coleman CQ table lamp with an AGM glass shade. I've not confirmed the shade number yet. Again If you have any information regarding AGM's glass shade, please let me know.

This CQ lamp has an old sunrise mark and date 7-35 (Jul. 1935) on the side of its embossed ribbed brass fount. And was stamped "Coleman CQ QUICK-LITE made in Canada by Coleman Lamp CO LTD Toronto" on the bottom of the fount. Its fuel control knob looks the same as Model 242 lantern.

US-made Coleman CQ table lamp with an unknown glass shade. This CQ lamp has an old sunrise mark and date code 5-5 (May. 1925) on the side of its nickel plated brass fount. And was stamped "Coleman CQ QUICK-LITE made in USA Coleman Lamp CO Wichita Kansas" on the bottom of the fount. I think the glass shade is from Akron Diamond Lamp. It has the same embossed pattern in the lower rim as Akron's glass shade. Please see the right image. It is a leaflet of Akron Diamond Lamp in 1929.

The left is a Coleman CQ table lamp with a Coleman #335 glass shade and the right is with an Akron's glass shade. Both are quoted from Atsuhito Watanabe's collection with his permission. The fount of the CQ lamp was re-plated and handle was re-painted with mahogany by him. Excellent job. It was made in Canada in May 1937. Thanks Atsuhito.

Canadian Coleman table lamp with a Coleman #443 Kremelite glass shade.

This lamp has an old sunrise mark and a date code 11-41 ( Nov. 1941 ) on the side of its naked brass fount. And was stamped nothing on the bottom of the fount. Its wooden handle seems to be re-painted with black. Its fuel control knob looks the same as Model 242 lantern.

US-made Coleman Model 131 table lamp with a Coleman #329 Monax glass shade.

This table lamp has an embossed ribbed brass fount and a decal on the side of the fount. It says "NO. 131 MATCH GENERATING COLEMAN". And was stamped "Coleman QUICK-LITE made in USA Coleman Lamp & Stove CO Wichita Kas" and a date code 4-9 ( Sep. 1934 ) on the bottom of the fount. Its fuel control knob looks the same as Model 242 lantern.

This is a Coleman Model 117A table lamp with a Coleman #444 glass shade.
This table lamp has an embossed ribbed brass fount which was painted "crackle green". And was stamped "Coleman INSTANT-LITE made in USA Coleman Lamp & Stove CO Wichita Kas" and date code 9-9 (This puzzles me a bit but it should be Sep. 1939) on the bottom of the fount. Its fuel control knob looks the same as Model 242 lantern and was fitted with a T-44 generator. Interestingly, it has a curved fuel tube within its fount and it is similar to Model 220-228 lantern's but not the same one.

Here is a Canadian Coleman table lamp, Model 118A. It has a brown painted ribbed brass fount with a built-in-pump fitted and has an unique curved fuel tube within the fount. T-44 generator. And was printed "COLEMAN INSTANT LITE, CQ 108?, MADE IN TRONTO CANADA BY THE COLEMAN LAMP & STOVE CO LTD" on the bottom of the fount. I guess the white glass shade might be a Coleman #306 but I'm not sure exactly.

Coleman table lamp with #329 Monax glass shade and is quoted from Don Bursill's collection with his permission. Judging from the fact that it has a built in pump, the model number should be 118B. It was being used until a few years ago on a farm about 60kms from Adelaide, South Australia. Nice hunting. Thanks Don.

Here is a Model 153 Coleman Instant-Lite Gas Lamp with a #318 Coleman glass shade and is quoted from George Rocen's collection with his permission. The comment below is from George.
It was Made in Canada, Sep.1934.
Note the fuel valve which is nickel over brass, is located between the wooden handle and the fount.
I don't know how many years this model was made but I have another one dated 1941. These are the only two I have ever seen. Thanks George.

The right image is from Canadian Coleman catalogue, effective Sep. 1941. Please note that Model 153 needs separate pump.
