This is an Optimus Model 930 made by Aktiebolaget Optimus, Upplands Vasby, Sweden.
It is a 300cp kerosene lantern and alcohol pre-heater fitted on its base frame.
Inner chimney, base frame and base rest were made of steel and most of others were made of brass.
The center & right images are quoted from Tetsuya Toda's collection with his permission. Thanks Tetsuya.
Optimus Model 930 with glass handle & shade.
The blue checks one on the right image is quoted from
Sinji Sekine's collection with his permission and the red
checks one is from Atsuhito Watanabe. Thanks Sinji and Atsuhito.
The left image shows an Optimus Model 930, 350cp version and is quoted from Anna Andersson's collection with her permission.
It has several differences from 300cp version and as you can see the right image, frame support collar and knob are clearly different.
Furthermore its upper inner chimney was connected with frame and you cannot the take upper inner chimney away as you can do it with 300cp version.
Thanks Anna.
This large single mantled kerosene lantern is an Optimus Model 350. It produces 350cp and the most of its parts were made of brass which were nickel plated except the red enameled top.
It was not equipped with blow torch pre-heater.
The left & center images are quoted from Tetsuya Toda's
collection with his permission.
Thanks Tetsuya.
Optimus Model 1200. The left & center one is a nickel plated version and and are quoted from Tetsuya Toda's collection with his permission.
The right one is a polished brass version.
These Model 1200 has a pre-heat torch fitted with an old lever type.
They can be equipped with a pressure indicator as an option
and you can see the fitting point on the fount.
Thanks Tetsuya.
This is a relatively recent Optimus Model 1200 and is quoted from Frederik Tivemark's collection with his permission.
Thanks Frederik.
This single mantled kerosene lantern is an Optimus Model 200P.
While it has no pre-heater device, the fuel gauge was attached on its fount.
As you can see in the right image ( on the left is a Model 200P ), others are almost the same as its succesor, Model 1200.
Left to right, Optimus Model 200, 200P & 1200. All are quoted from Frederik Tivemark's collection with his permission.
He bought them from a combined flea market & surplus store with carton boxes and according to the printed instructions in the boxes, the 200 seems to be made in early 1980s and the 200P seems to be made in 1973.
All 3 lamps were predominantly made of brass with nickel-plated and have a red enameled top.
The 200P was fitted with a fuel gauge & a pressure gauge on its fount.
The 1200 was not fitted with a pre-heat torch and it has NO HOLE ( fitting point ) for it on its fount. See the 4th image.
Quite interesting.
Thanks Frederik.
This large kerosene lantern is an Optimus Model 300P in brand new condition.
Its size is almost the same as other 500cp kerosene lamps, says Petromax 829, but its candlepower is a 300-350 range.
Most of its parts were made of brass with nickel plated except its red top, inner chimney, base frame and bail.
It has a fuel gauge on its fount like Optimus 200P.

Here is an Optimus model 1550G and is quoted from one of my
fellows, Atsuhito Watanabe's collection with his permission.
I heard that it has an interesting story as followings.
( I hope my understanding is correct.)
The Star Trading Co. which has been Japanese import agency of Optimus products, assembled several 1550Gs and sold them in Japan in 1999.
Star Trading used parts remained in the Optimus' warehouse in Sweden and some from Petromax's when assembled them.
This lantern is one of the model 1550Gs assembled in that way.
Interestingly, it has an early red colored top ventilator and valve wheel.
The brack top lantern in right image is an original Optimus 1550G manufactured around 1996, just before its production was terminated and is also quoted from Atsuhito Watanabe's collection.
The differences between these two are ventilator, valve wheel and base rest. Thanks Atsuhito.
Left to right, Optimus 300P, Optimus 200P, Radius 119 with standard top and Radius 119 with cook top.
These nice kerosene lanterns are quoted from Frederik Tivemark's collection with his permission. Thanks Tivemark.
