This single mantled large gasoline lantern is a Coleman "Major" Model 236.
It has nickel plated brass fount with a built-in pump and base rest & frame are also made of brass and has light green porcelain enamel ventilator.
It uses straight fuel tube with needle within the fount.
It has Sunrise-Mark & date on the side of fount and stamped "Major NO. 236" on base rest.
This one was made in Canada, Apr. 1947.
Here is another "Model 236"
Noticeable differences from above are dark green ventilator, cap of pump plunger assembly and embossed mark on base rest.
It says "236 USE GENERATOR NO 236-299".
This 236 was made in Canada, Aug. 1958.
Another "Model 236"
Noticeable difference from above is the shape of ventilator.
This 236 was made in Canada, Apr. 1960 and it's my birth year & month.
This is a Model 236A
It has some minor differences from 236.
Base rest is made of aluminum and embossed "236A".
Although I forgot to take photos with bail fitted, its shape is somewhat different
from 236's bail.
This 236A was made in Canada, Mar. 1970.
This single mantled large kerosene lantern is a Coleman "Model 237B".
It has green painted brass fount with a built-in pump, base rest & frame are made of "steel" and has green porcelain enamel ventilator.
It uses straight fuel tube "without needle" within the fount.
Its built-in pump is more similar to early 220-228 models.
Interestingly, it has large decal on the side of fount and says "USE ONLY KEROSENE".
It was stamped "NO 237B COLEMAN LAMP AND STOVE CO. WICHITA KANSAS" on base rest and
has Sunrise-Mark & date on the bottom of fount.
This 237B was made in USA, Jul. 1944.
I'm not sure if this straight glass globe is appropriate to this model.
If you have any information, please let me know.
This is a Coleman Model 237, light green version and is quoted from Atsuhito Watanabe's collection with his permission. It runs on kerosene and was made in Canada in D-1946.
Thanks Atsuhito.

Here is another "Model 237"
Noticeable difference from above is the shape of ventilator.
This 237 was made in USA, but has no date.
I'm not sure when Coleman switched the shape of ventilator
of 236 & 237 models.
Again, if you have any information, please let me know.
The left is the generator of 237's & the right is 236's.
This single mantled gasoline lantern is a sort of "Frankenstein" Coleman Model 635.
When I restored this lantern, I found a "pin hole" at its light green painted "steel" fount and it didn't hold pressure.
Therefore I replaced it with 639's nickel plated "steel" one.
Thanks Coleman, both model's diameter of the center hole on the top of the fount is the same.
We can exchange both model's fuel valve assembly or fount itself each other.
Anyway it has nickel plated "steel" fount, "steel" base frame and light green porcelain enamel ventilator.
It was embossed "MODEL 635, GLOBE 660, MANTLE 1111, GENERATOR G6" on aluminum base rest and
has Sunrise mark, Made in Canada and date on the bottom of fount.
Sorry, the right image shows the fuel cap is not a proper one to this model.
I prefer this "with screw" type though.
This is a kerosene lantern, Coleman Model 639 made in Jan. 1975.
It has light green painted "steel" fount, "steel" base frame and light green porcelain enamel ventilator.
It was embossed "MODEL 639, CP RAIL" on aluminum base rest.
So this lantern was designed for Canadian Pacific Railway.
It has Sunrise mark, made in Canada and date on the bottom of fount and uses K6 generator.
Interestingly, there is an instruction, "Open after preheating generator", in 3 languages on the direction disk.
This one is also a Coleman Model 639, made in Canada, Feb. 1972.
It came with the original box and is almost new condition.
It is a single mantle kerosene lantern and produces 550cp output.
It has nickel-plated steel fount, steel base frame and green porcelain enamel ventilator.
Its aluminum base rest was embossed "MODEL 639, GLOBE 660, MANTLE 1111, GENERATOR K6".
It has Sunrise mark, Made in Canada and date on the bottom of its fount.
Here is an another 639 CP-Rail model made in Jan. 1978.
Decal of the fount and the finish of base frame were changed in late 70s.
This is also a Coleman Model 639 made in Jan. 1983.
Decal of the fount was again changed.
You can see similar decal in Model 321 series.
The left is the generator of 635's & the right is 639's.
