●「〜のもの」という意味の代名詞（所有代名詞）には、次のものがある。

■whose（だれのもの）：a friend of mineの形
●「だれのもの」はwhoseで表す。これはwhoの変化形で「だれの」のwhoseと同じ形だから、用法に注意して区別する。
Whose clothes are those? （あれはだれの着物ですか）
[whose＋名詞→「だれの」]
Whose are those clothes? （あの着物はだれのものですか）
[whoseのみ→「だれのもの」]
●a friend of mine（私の友達）、this book of hers（彼女のこの本）などと言った英語独特の表現にも注意。
【例文】
Whose are those clothes? They are mine..
（あの着物はだれのものですか？ 私のです）
