I had taught my students how to write e-mail and tried to improve their
some ability in English, but I realized
that it would be better to use English and the Internet for students to
communicate.

I would recommend you to use Web pages as bulletin board ,and e-mail as
a means of communication.
This is the fastest way to promote students' exchanging project.
