˜1 Review of the last lesson
After a casssette tape recorder, students have to repeat each sentence of what they had read in the last class with their textbooks closed. After all, they will have to memorize one or more pages before the lesson. However, it makes students read the textbooks many times, and makes them accustomed to English sentences or paraghraphs at the same time.

 New words & phrases
I make it a rule to have students feel the image of the word, sometimes going back to its origin, separating the word into some parts, and sometimes using pictures and English-English dictionary to explain it. Here in Japan, unfortunately they seldom have opportunities to use English words they learned. On the other hand, they like to learn something logically. So this mehtod suits them very well, I think. And I have them use new words or phrases in a real conversation. Usually I prefer Q&A style in their making sentences with them.

 Reading
For understanding the context of the passage or story, I'll make each student translate one sentence into Japanese and encourage them to ask a lot of questions about the context, grammar, or structure. If they don't ask me any questions, I always make an attack on them with my tricky questions. At times, I had them make questions asking about the context themselves in order to measure their understanding.

˜‚R@Further Study
It depends on the lesson, but if it is a conversation, I am going to have them make a dialogue in pairs. But in that case it's rather difficult for them to make their original one from zero, so I'll give them a format to be filled out. At any rate, I'll make it a fun.
