FreshWater Academy in Yokohama
(FWAY)

As you know they say, one of men's dreams is to enter woman school.
There are
three famous and popular woman schools named "Seisin・Shirayuri・Toyo Eiwa" in Tokyo, Japan.
One of them said to me "You are a nice guy and
already inoffensive, harmless for women. therefore we will give you opportunities to take entrance exams."

So met I the challenge. I failed in the first entrance examination by the reason of my poor command of English. I managed to succeed in the second one in 1996.

I went to the woman school at Roppongi for two years. The theme of the thesis for Master of Social Science was "Freshwater Issues in the World and Convention on the Law of Non-Navigational Uses of International Watercourses". I submitted the both theses written in Japanese in '97 and in English in '98 respectively.

Therefore, I am a "slightly ancient young alumnus of the woman school" with the
qualification of MSS. (^0^)(^0^)

Since then, I had been plugging away at my theme, however I have organized the gathering to read books, essays, and the likes on the global freshwater issues in May, 2002. I have been presiding the meeting every Tuesday afternoon.

The way of gathering is quite simple. Participants read vigorously and cheerfully the literature and translate it into Japanese and, if necessary, discuss various questions.

At this stage, we are wrestling with the book entitled "Public Participation in the Governance of International Freshwater Resources" (published by UNU).

Why don't you participate in our gathering
in order to understand global freshwater issues, learn authentic elegant Japanese, and interact with intellectual 0jisan / Obasan: slightly ancient young fantastic looking ladies and handsome gentlemen? (^0^)(^0^)
