多国籍超疾走メロディックスピードメタルバンドの1stアルバム。こういったバンドはB級臭がするものが多いのですが、音質・演奏共にクオリティが高く、ZPの歌はこの時点ではまだまだというところがありますが、そこらへんのバンドとは格の違いを見せつけてくれます。1曲バラード（#5）以外は全曲疾走というスタイルです。

#1の短いイントロのあと、#2、#3、#4と走り抜けていき、#5のバラード。ここまでの流れは非常に好きです。今や代表曲となっている#2はもちろん、注目すべきは#5ですね。湿ったメロディラインが特徴なのですが、バラードではそれがよく活きています。1曲1曲が長いこともあり、後半少しダレるところもありますが、ボーナストラックの#10がこれまた素晴らしいです。

1stで大きな注目を集めたドラゴンフォースの2ndアルバム。ドラムがデイブ・マッキントッシュ（元バルサゴス）に交代し、速いだけでなく、ブラストビートなど面白いドラミングが見られるようになりました。

今回も1曲だけバラードで他は全曲疾走、さらにボーナストラックの出来が素晴らしいという、ドラゴンフォースらしさが出ているアルバムです。#1#2は素晴らしいですね。Valley of the Damnedと並ぶ代表曲になりそうです。他の曲もかなりクオリティが高いのですが、どうも覚えられないんですよね。なんだかどれも同じ曲に聴こえてしまうといいますか・・・。
