Dear Motohiko Narita,
Thank you for contacting PayPal.
When you enter the incorrect Expanded Use Number three times your card
becomes disabled. I have re-enabled your credit card. You will need to
try to re-add it to your account and complete the Expanded Use Process.
Upon review of your account, I see that you initiated the Expanded Use
process and requested your Expanded Use Number on April 28, 2006.
If you have access to your credit card statement online, it may take up
to
four business days to view your Expanded Use Number. If you do not have
online access to your credit card statement, please wait to receive your
printed statement in the mail.
In the item description section of your credit card statement, your
four-digit Expanded Use Number will be printed next to or near the PayPal
Expanded Use Fee. The number will be posted in the following format:
four-digit Expanded Use Number, the word "PAYPAL", (no space
between the
numbers and the word "PAYPAL") followed by two dashes (--), followed
by
*EXPUSE, (example, 1234PAYPAL--*EXPUSE).
In some cases, the card issuer may put the currency conversion next to
the
Expanded Use Number. To find your Expanded Use Number, you will want to
use
the four digits that appear just before the word PAYPAL. In the example,
USD1.95@1.8989891234PAYPAL--*EXPUSE, the Expanded Use Number is 1234.
Once you have received your four-digit Expanded Use Number:
1. Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/
2. Click "Complete Expanded Use Enrollment" in the Activate Account
Box
on the Overview page.
3. Enter the 4-digit Expanded Use Number in the box provided. If there
is more than one credit card listed, you must choose the credit card by
using the pull-down menu.
4. Select the credit card of which you would like to complete the
Expanded Use Enrollment Process.
5. Click "Submit."
PayPal strongly discourages customers from calling their credit card
companies in order to obtain PayPal Expanded Use Numbers. However, as a
last resort, your credit card company may be willing to provide you with
a
reprint of a particular statement. If PayPal receives a complaint from
Visa, MasterCard, or your card issuer about a phone call made to obtain
PayPal Expanded Use Numbers, the complaint will be investigated. As a
result, your PayPal account may be closed. Please check for your Expanded
Use Number on your online credit card statement or on your physical
statement when you receive it in the mail.
We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter, and
wish you continued success on PayPal.
Sincerely,
Adrienne
