Sakana is Fish in Japanese, Ichthys in Greek. Ancient time, Christian was not allow to proclaim their Identity, while it spread secretly so wide, that they often had meeting in hidden places. If they were found as believer, they might have been killed, at least prisoned by Roman government. Therefore they used the fish symbol, which is acronym of  “Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Savior” to mark meeting places and tombs, or to distinguish friends from foes.

Fish is circulating over the sea freely, silently and obediently, schooling together to travel around million mile all the way, never being tired, fertilizing sea abundantly.
