日光彫り三島屋のサイトにお越し頂き、誠に有難うございます。当店の製品は、原木から吟味した栃材（栃木県の県木）を主に用い、木地、彫刻、塗りの全行程をおこなっております。丁寧な職人仕事により、ご使用頂く程に味わい深くなり、造形と共に楽しんで頂けるものであると思っております。当店は、東照宮の手前、約１Kmの所に有りますので、是非一度ご来店の上、ご覧頂きたいと心からお待ち申し上げております。

NIKKO CARVING was initiated approximateiy 300 and several decades ago when craftmen were caiied in from all parts of Japan to beengaged in construction of the Nikko Shrine. These craftmen, aftercompletion of the shrine, settled down in this area and engaged themselves in establishing the foundation of the Nikko carving. The carved wood surface is coated with red or black lacquer one layer after another with fine particles of black or occasionally, brown pigment applied on surface, and then polished in finishing.
