さて、今日は天気も悪いので久々に第二話を…(誰も期待してないって?)

勢いで始めたピアノの練習も(いや、勢いではありません。昔から弾いてみたかったからですよ。ハハハ)ついに9ヶ月が経過した。最初は私の練習曲をおねちとおおちに真似されてちょっぴり情けなかったのですが、最近は重音(1オクターブ離れた2つの音)を使う曲が多くなり、手の小さいおねち達は真似しなくなった。

ところでワタクシんーすけの上達度が早いのか遅いのかはよく分からないである。それは比較対象がないので(時々Web上の練習記を探したりもしますが)相対的にはということ。では絶対的に早いか…というと、ひそかな目標が2003年末でインベンションが1曲弾けるというところだったので、これは可能かもしれない。とすると、まあまあというレベルか。

これがどう絶対音感と関係するのか?というとこですが、絶対音感を持つんーすけでもまあこんなもんだということです。実際に演奏するときは、指の位置からを相対的に移動して(大幅に音が離れると、視覚的に鍵盤をみないといけないですが)いる訳ですから、ここは別に音感は関係ない。曲自体は確かに耳で覚えるのは早いのですが、結局指が覚えないと指が速く動いてくれないので、最終的には音感はあまり関係ないのが現状のようです。(といいつつ、おねちもおおちも絶対音感があるので、ない場合はどの程度なのかは想像がつつかないのですが)

Practicing a piano by force of circumstance, (No, that's not by force of circumstance. I have long been would like to play a piano.) at last 9 months has passed. At first Onechi and Ohchi played my lesson song so it was disgusted with me. But recently I'm playing multiphonic so they don't copy because their hand is still small.

And now I don't know my degree of proficiency for playing a piano is fast or slow. The reason is I have no object of comparing. Well, for deciding absolutely fast or slow, my goal is playing one of Invention until the end of 2003, it may be possible. If so, not too bad.

How is this related with absolute pitch, that means Nm-Soukae who has absolute pitch is not expected a lot. When I play a piano I move a finger to next position from current position relatively. (If I move a finger to far position, I have to see fingerboard.) So this is no relationship with absolute pitch. Certainly I can catch on song from my ear so fast, after all I have to catch on by finger because my finger don't move fast, finally I think not too related with absolute pitch. (However my daughters also have absolute pitch so I can't imagine if we don't have.)

「絶対音感」(最相葉月著、小学館)の発刊でちょっと話題になった絶対音感ですが、「3〜6歳くらいの間に訓練すると身に付けられる才能」というのが一般的な認知のようですが、持っている人の体験ということで読んでみてください。

まず私の記憶では、5歳ごろ父親と一緒に近所の文具屋に行って五線譜を買いに行き、テレビで流れている音楽を楽譜に落としていたのが最初になります。しかし、この時の楽譜が正しいものかどうかは不明なので、あまり確かな情報ではありません。

次に、中学校の時クラスで歌の練習をしていたのですが、突然歌い始める音階が違うため気になって「音が違う」と繰り返していたら「うるさい」と言われてしまった。しかしこのとき、いつも歌っている音階と明らかに違うことが明確だったのでこれが最も信憑性のある記憶でしょう。

ちなみに、私は学校教育以外では音楽を習ったことがありません。

その後、大学生になってカラオケなんかに行ったときに、カラオケの音階といつも聴いている音楽の音階が違うと非常に歌いづらい。まあしかしこんなものかと思っていました。(音痴ではないとは思っていましたが)

で、とあるきっかけでパソコンで音楽を演奏するソフトを開発すること約10年間。当初からデバッグ用に作曲や耳コピー(音楽を楽譜に置き換える)作業をしていたのですが、これをできるのはどうも皆ではなさそう・・というのに気づいてはいましたが、まだ絶対音感がない人がいることは知る由もありませんでした。

で、上記の「絶対音感」という本が出版されてから「うむ?これはそんな特殊なことだったのか!!」と気づき、調べると嫁はんにはない。上の娘にはあるが下の娘にはない。

例えば、救急車のサイレンや学校のチャイムを音階(ドレミ)で言えるかどうか。「ミ」の音で歌ってと言われてちゃんとした「ミ」で歌えるかどうか。

ちなみに、娘は二人ともピアノを習っているのですが、上の娘は聴音と言って音階の聞き取りについては全く練習の必要がない状態で楽勝でした。また、幼児期でも歌声は必ず音階が合っています。(普通、幼児が歌うと音階などまったく無視される)　下の娘は典型的な幼児で、最初は歌うとまるで音階が違う。ピアノ教室に2年半通った甲斐で、ピアノ系の音階なら聴き当てられるし、歌う音階も大抵合うようになった。

ただ、私も上の娘も、日本とアメリカのオーケストラの基準周波数の違いなど分らないし、半音の違いを判別するのはちょっと怪しい。ただ和音の響きなどは1%狂っていても気づくので、ピアノの調律師泣かせではあります。

言ってみれば絶対音感も、運動神経がいいか悪いか、手先が器用か不器用か、そんな感じの遺伝的な面が結構あると思います。もちろん、訓練すれば(幼少期に行うか老人がするかの差はありますが)誰でもある程度レベルアップはするでしょう。ただ、誰でもオリンピック選手並にはなれないのと同じで、先天的な差や長年の努力というのは簡単には追いつけないもの、それと同じです。

Absolute pitch that was talked about because coming out "Absolute pitch", it is universally-recognized as flair that 3 to 6 old children can get. Please would you read this as experience of having it?

I bought a staff notation to stationer with my father when I was 5 old in my memory. But it's not known that was staff notation or not, therefore it's not hard-and-fast information.

Next around, we practiced to sing a song in junior high school, I said "This scale is not right!" again and again because I was nervous of the scale that they were sung, then someone said "Be quiet!". But then, it was clear that the scale was different from the scale that we sang. That was most credible memory.

Incidentally, I have not been learning music except formal education.

After that, when I was a college student and went to karaoke, the scale that was sounded from karaoke was different from the scale that I heard always, it was very hard to sing. But I thought that is the way it goes. (And I thought I did not sing badly.)

Something led to develop software that plays music on PC for about 10 years.  From the beginning of that I composed music and wrote a score that listened song, I noticed all other people could not do same thing. But I had no way of finding people who does not have absolute pitch.

Well, after published above "Absolute pitch" I found my absolute pitch is particular skill. I checked about my family, my wife doesn't have, oldest daughter has, and second daughter doesn't have.

For example, could or not say scales of ambulance or chime? Could or not sing right E key?

Incidentally, my daughters have been learning the piano, oldest daughter we call her "Onechi", she did not necessary to practice sound detection. And she was able to sing perfect pitch in childhood. (Usually children sing in disregard for score.) Second daughter we call her "Ohchi", at first she was not able to sing perfect pitch. But going to piano lesson school for 2 years made her was able to get right scale and almost sang true pitch.

However, I and Onechi don't detect difference of standard music pitch between United States and Europe. And detecting half tone is not perfect. But we can find 1% of chord difference, so we are the bane of piano tuner.

It's like saying that absolute pitch is hereditary like having excellent reflexes or not, be good with one's hands or not. Of course anyone can increase level in a way. (It has difference that starts childhood or aged man.) However, it is not easy to catch up many years of efforts or an inbom difference same as anyone can not be as Olympian.
