人と幸せに暮らしたうさぎさんは、天国に行く前に虹の橋に行くと・・・

虹　の　橋

天国の一歩手前に、『虹の橋』と呼ばれる場所がある

地上にいるだれかと親しくしていた動物は、死ぬとその『虹の橋』へ行く

そこには、草地や丘がひろがっていて、動物たちはいっしょになって走ったり遊んだりすることができる

たっぷりの食べ物と水、そして日の光に恵まれ、彼らは暖かく、快適に過ごしている

病気にかかっていたリ歳をとったりしていた動物たちは、ここに来て健康と活力を取り戻し、

傷ついたり不具になったりした動物たちも、もとどおりの丈夫な体を取り戻す

過ぎ去りし日の夢の中でのように

動物たちは幸せに暮らしているけれど、ひとつだけ不満がある

それぞれにとって特別なだれかが、あとに残してきただれかがいないのを寂しく感じているのだ

動物たちはいっしょに遊んで時を過ごしている

しかし、ついにある日、そのうちの一匹が足を止めて遠くに目を向ける

目はきらきらと輝き、体はたまりかねたように小刻みに震えはじめる

突然、彼(女)はみんなから離れて、緑の草地を跳ぶように走っていく

あなたを見つけたのだ

とうとう出会えたあなたたちは、抱き合って再会を喜びあう。もはや二度と別れることはない

喜びのキスがあなたの顔に降りそそぎ、あなたの両手は愛する友の頭と体をふたたび愛撫する

そして、あなたは信頼にあふれたその瞳をもう一度のぞきこむ

あなたの人生から長いあいだ姿を消していたが、心からは一日たりとも消えたことがないその瞳を

それから、あなたたちはいっしょに『虹の橋』を渡るのだ



Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;

those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again

just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content except for one small thing:

they each miss someone very special someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together

but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.

His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.

Suddenly he breaks from the group flying over the green grass faster and faster.

You have been spotted

and when you and your special friend finally meetyou cling together in joyous reunion

never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head

and you look once more into those trusting eyes

so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
