Congratulations! You took the cake once again. Japan succeeded to get bluefin tunas again.
Does your Kyun love tunas? We still have opportunity to eat bluefin tunas instead of farmed tunas. Actually I prefer white-fleshed fish to lean fish. On the one hand, Japanese eating habits is highly valued in the world but on the other hand our traditional whaling is taking a bashing. Generally speaking, human doesn’t care of other creatures before they became endangered species such as Japanese crested ibis. Our species will be threatened with extinction someday but who knows when. “Everything will turn out for the best” or “Everything will turn out for the last”

[Comment] :   Thanks. It came at the right time. So, I was just lucky. Our cat is a light eater, but she does eat all kinds of fish, including crab meat. I love tuna fish, too. Good thing our eating habits are generally healthy, although young people today eat a lot of junk food here in Japan, too. Mans greed knows no limits, causing the extinction of quite a few species. Humans will not be able to live should the other species become extinct. The human race will eventually face Mother Natures wrath if adequate measures are not taken. I do hope for the best, but under existing circumstances prospects are not very good... Thank your for coming.

Igi was a beautiful cat. She lived over a year longer than the vet had predicted. Her last few months must have been tough, but she endured that hard part. We have lost three cats so far, and they were all good cats for us-smart Kyon, gentle Chil, and this pretty Igi. Now we have Kyun running all around the house all the time. Sorry my late New Year greetings. I received “Good answer!” e-mail from Mr.Mizushima this morning. Whew, I made it just before closing! I’ve been busy at work when I noticed his uploading new crossword puzzle so I had to postpone working out it until yesterday evening. My husband and I went to Kaike onsen spa from 8th to 9th as a treat for ourselves. While taking a bath I’ve been thinking of some clues. I’m a crossword abuser aren’t I? Ouch! I missed to hit the number 40000! I held HPS early year-end party in my house yesterday. I checked Mr.Mizushima’s HP and your HP before the party and then noticed the number 40000 is just around the corner. We drank, ate and chatted for around four hours. After HPS members left my house, I washed dishes and went to bed. I slept in this morning and went to take English class without having breakfast. I had barely time to blush my teeth and wash my face. I came back home and opened my PC. Oh my god! It’s too late! The early bird catches the worm, the lazy cat missed the number.

Century note isn’t familiar for me because I haven’t been to US. I used US$ in some Asian countries but mostly small notes. Since I’ve quit a sports club I became lazy and chubby. My daily exercise is Wii Fit. This well-built program is worth to buy. I am in suspense every day. Wii Fit sounds fun. It seems more like a game. You can have fun and get exercise at the same time-killing two birds with one stone. The scratch on my forefinger is OK now. But the kitten often turns into the Neko Bus, running around in the rooms, causing a great mess. Rascal!!! She will not listen to us. She is too cute to scold, though. Kyun does sound cute. Actually, however, she is so skinny now. We tried to feed her yesterday. she ate a lot. At her previous home, she must have eaten only a little. May I extend my condolence on the recent death of your father. We often hear of demise of our parent’s generation recently. News of someones painful loss makes us sad but on the other hand we feel some relief that we fulfill our obligation as children. I’ve been to Bali Island several times and then I often saw funeral ceremonies there. According to their culture, when a person died, his/hers family started saving money for three or four years to hold a funeral ceremony, seems like festival, and then all villages member help them to make ornaments, prepare foods and drinks and play traditional music and dance to cerebrate the departed soul and his/hers family. The concept of death is different depend on the culture but following the generational order of dying is natural.

The saying Leave everything neat and tidy when you go reminded me something happened recently. I went to Kyoto to walk around a temple and a shrine with my friends yesterday. It was little earlier for cherry blossom viewing so those places were neat and tidy. But we should announce the saying loudly there in this weekend. Another thing is my friend’s husband who passed away a month ago. All of us were high-school classmates. His death was too early. When he goes, he doesn’t leave everything neat and tidy. My friend always picks up after him. She will not clear up his reminder this time. His bad custom did some good for her.

Thanks for your comment. It used to be said that teaching is a sacred profession, but it is no long so. Some teachers would do anything for their promotion. For example, they stay at a difficult school for a while, being promoted later and leaving a lot of unfinished work behind. People of leadership caliber should be leaders, but people who manipulate others to attain their goals should not be leaders. The actual situation, however, is to the contrary.
All human beings are mortal and just like travelers staying in this world for a while. We live at the sacrifice of the beautiful nature of this planet. Mother Nature will strike back hard in time. My comment has gotten a little somber. Sorry about that.

So will humans.” But Japanese politicians break down so easily recently, don’t you think so? It’s too late to say Happy New Year but better late than never. How was your winter holiday? According to your diary, you’ve been addicted in playing mahjong, haven’t you? I started playing mahjong when I was 5 or 6years old for New Year’s family event like one hundred waka poems” and card game. But I’m bad at math and gambling so I just concentrated haw to make my tiles beautifully and didn’t care of other member’s mode. What’s more, I couldn’t
calculate “yaku” so my father gave up on me. After all, gambling isn’t lazy cat’s department. If you play with fire you get burned. Working out the Super Crosswords is down my alley.

[Comment] :   Happy New Year to You, too, Cats-Paw-san. By and large, I could enjoy the winter holidays, playing and working around the house. How abou you? I guess you must have given everybody a paw(hand) because the end of the year is always hectic.
I am so-so when it comes to playing mahjong. I used to play pachinko, too, but I quit it because I hate cigarrette smoke-secondhand smoke is not good for your health, you know. By the way, I can calculate yaku. I learn it by using a computer mahjong game called Jikochushinha, which is an excellent mahjong game, in my opinion.
The Super Crossword may be to my liking, but it takes me a long time and a lot of energy. In other words, physical strength talks. Therefore, to begin with, you must be in good health, dont you think? Thanks for coming, Cats-Paw-san.

In this season, autumn, we have many delicious seasonal foods. A few days ago, my friend brought me a Japanese pine mushroom! Actually, I haven’t eaten it for a long time. Imported Matsutakes are popular now. Certainly, I could recognize the difference of smell and taste. My friend, my husband and I shared it with beer. Something got in between one of my teeth and the gum, causing an inflamation in the gum. I like matsutake, too,-especially its smell. Homegrown matsutake must be a lot better in taste and smell. How I wish I could eat it! Over a cold glass of beer, I mean. Eat, drink, and be merry, but dont drink too much. Isnt the summer heat getting you down? It became my monthly event writing here. What a lazy cat I am! My new topic is, my husband and I took early summer vacation and went to Indonesia from Jun 27th to July 5th. We met our old Indonesian friend after a long time. When we met her last, her daughters were elementary school students but they became mothers now. What’s more, she changed her husband! We stayed her hometown and then we realized there were no alcoholic beverages in that area because most residences are Muslim included my friends and foreign tourists hardly visit there. No consumer no supplier. Everything was great there except this issue.

Actually in our generation, situation is getting worse year by year. I’m sorry about that your mother had collapsed on the 1st of this month, and then I remembered what happened to my father last New Year’s day. He went to a shrine alone and fell over steps and then went to hospital by ambulance in early morning. It was an omen of that year. I visited my mother on the 1st of this month. Someone said that we are in the turning point of weather. Japan used to belong to warm latitudes but we will belong to subtropics in the near future.
