Monday, February 28, 2011 Rainy

On Friday, January 25 was our commencement reahearsal. A homeroom student came late, saying that she had sent me an email. However, there was no such received call. On Saturday I relaxed at home and also was the family chaufeur for my wife and my son. And on Sunday the commecement was held at our school. I was also on telephone duty. I should have known more about the entrance exam application details, but I am not interested in this area. Today I was busy with the homeroom money stuff and also soring out the sign-up related papers. Came back home eary because my wife was not feeling well this morning.

Thursday, February 24, 2011 Cloudy, occasionally drizzling.

Come to thinki of it, preparations are a bit tiriing, but the sign-up assistance period itself has not been too busy if you take care of only six students a day. Also you can fill in the school records and input the data at the same time. As soon as this is over, you have plenty of time to do some extra work until the deadline of the third term, that is, before the entrance exam application begins.

Wednesdday, February 23, 2011 Fair and then cloudy.

Two English Tstudents came to see me with their assignment. I helped two homeroom students sign up and take their subjects for the next school year. Checked several reports. Spent quite some time listening to my iPod. Came back home early and ate supper with my wife. She looked tired and hit the sack early. I am writing in the diary with our cat on my lap, so I am having difficulty doing that. Oh, what a cat!

Tuesday, February 22, 2011 Fair

Been to the Korean language school. My Korean was not in good condition today. Made quite a few mistakes both in speaking and writing. Returned a library book and checked out two. Yesterday there was a graduation judgment conference. Sent the 18 graduating students an invitation to the commencement on Sunday.

Sunday, February 20, 2011 Fair

Yesterday I only took part in the English conversation session as usual. Today was a workday. I was on telephone duty for prospective entrance exam applicants. I also took care of two students-one for English Tand the other for his sign-up procedure. Back home watched some dramas on TV as I did yesterday.

Friday, February 18, 2011 \cloudy

Yesterday taking three hours off, I came back home early and chillaxed. Again only three out of six students came. Today five students came, so only one "active" student did not show up at all or contact me at all. Not too bad.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011 Fair

Day 2 of the sign-up assistance period for the so-called "active" studetns. Today three out of six came. Sent the last reminder to the so-called "stagnant" students and also the "active" ones who have not come yet. This morning did the Super Crossword and went to the dentist and one the way home bought some bread and sime side dishes for lunch.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011 Cloudy

Did my Korean homework in the morning. Decided not to go to the sign language club for the time being because I would be too busy. Went to the Korean language school in the afternoon and then to work. Continued with the school records. Signed up for Face Book tonight.

Monday, February 14, 2011 Cloudy and snowy.

It snowed and the streets were so slippery and dangerous on the way home. Day 1 of the sign-up assistance period. Only three out of six came. One gave me a call and I called the other two. Fill in the school records with the students' grades.

Sunday, February 13, 2011 Cloudy

Went to work in the afternoon although today was a holiday. Just one homeroom student's parent came. Talked for an hour or so, I guess.Prepared for the sign-up assistance period starting tomorrow. Back home watched some Chinese and Korean dramas on TV.

Saturday, February 12, 2011 Cloudy

Our second son came and left like a storm. He and his friends are going to make a company. A certain big company will provide them with plenty of money. But he himself has to put some money into their project. That was why he came back home yesterday. I am poor, but I think I will give him the amoung of money he will need. I think much of his determination to give it a try.

Friday, February 11, 2011 Snowy

I stayed at home all day, resting and doing nothing. Maybe stress must have piled up inside of myself because of what happened this week. But I know I will have one concern after another soon. Our second son is coming home today-something out of the blue. Something must have happened to him. Well, what will he have to tell us?

Thursday, February 10, 2011 Fair

Yesterday was the first deadline for graduating student's grades. I just kept giving one retest or makeup after another all the time. At tbe same time had to deal with that problem kid. She would likely get away with it. What a person! Today was not too busy-just one teachers' meeting. In the morning I went to the otolaryngologist.

Tuesday, February 8, 2011 Cloudy and then rainy.

Stil have a sore throat, but took a walk in the morning. Did not go to the sign language club becasue I had so much Korean homework to do. So I went to the Korean language school in the afternoon. Then went to work. At work a problem arose about a graduating homeroom student. Nobody is to bllame but the student herself, though. She asked for it.

Monday, February 7, 2011 Cloudy

The sore throat really gets me. I took some medicine this morning, which alleviated the pain a little bit. During the day, helped a student with her sign-up procedure. It took me around an hour. Too long! There was a call from another student's mother. The other seven did not show up. Sent them the second reminder. Gave two Reading students a makeup and helped one English Tstudent with his reports.

Sunday, February 6, 2011 Cloudy

Took a morning walk anyway. Took our son's PC to Joshin to have it disposed of this morning. Watched the last episode of "Dai-Shin Teikoku"( The Great Shin Empire), a Chinese TV drama. I was impressed. Looks like I have a sore throat.

Saturday, February 5, 2011 Sunny

Just went to the English conversation school. There were over 10 people. Eventually 12 or 13. Some of them came to know this English conversation get-toghether through the ad it ran in a local town magazine called "PAD." When this many people meet, it is difficult for everyone to talk, so some of us just remained silent throughout the time. It is a shame. Maybe six or seven is the best number.

Friday, February 4, 2011 Sunny

Went to the dentist this morning. At work one exam to invigilate. Checked around 30 reports and marked the English Texam papers. Also on duty at the gate for 40 minutes. Ended up working overtime. We seem to see things differently than we did in the 90s, when things looked brighter. Because of the recession, the way we think has also changed. We can never return to the pre-recession era.

Thursday, February 3, 2011 Sunny

Last night ate zenzai with a rice cake. Our cat often slips into my futon past midnight, which wakes me up and causes me lack of sleep. At work there was a teachers's education session- a lecture on students whose mother tongue is not Japanese and who need to be taught Japanese before learning in class.

Wednesday, February 2, 2011 Sunny

Took a walk for the first time in a week. At work worked as planned. Almost done with my preparations for the sign-up assistance period anyway. In the wee hours of the morning happened to wake up, finding the Super Crossword for the first half of this month. Spent two hours or so solving it. Because of this irregularity, felt a bit tired during the day today.

Tuesday, February 1, 2011 Cloudy

Studied Korean in the morning for an hour or so, and could not go to the sign language club's weekly meeting. I may quit the club because I am too busy these days. Went to the Korean language school in the afternoon. Coming back home, went shopping with my wife at Joshin and Kohnan. Ate noodles for supper on the way home. My wfe's computer is now hooked up to the Internet, too.
