Back home watched two Chinese dramas. On the way home also had a haircut.

Yesterday was freezing cold. While on duty at the school gate for 40
minutes, I wore my muffler, my thick jumber, and my cap. Invigilated two
exams, marking the Reaing exma papers. Today realxed almost all day watching
some Chinese period dramas. Returned two library books, too.

After today's staff meeting, I did a lot of printing-the sign-up time
schedules for the homeroom students, the survey on their chacacter, club,
attendance etc, and a slip about the deadlines for this school year's money
( club, homeroom, etc.) Today's teachers' meeting has revealed that the
board of education is cracking down on us teachers in an unprecedented
manner. What an age we live in! Not much fun to live in this day and age
anyway.

Did the before-the-test cleaning. Had a Korean study session. Checked
some reports. In the process of preparing for the sign-up assistance period.
Today put papers into envelopes, and did some printing.
Tuesday, January 24, 2012 Clooudy
In the morning decided to take it easy, so did not study Korean or Chinese.
(I took a day off today for the first time in many days. Inspection day.)
In the afternoon went to both the Korean and Chinese clasees. In the meantime,
ate out as a Japanese port cutlet restaurant.
Monday, Janaury 23, 2012 Cloudy, occasionally sprinkling.
This past Saturday, that is on the 21st, my wife and met the parents
of our first-born son's fiance for the first time, dining together. It
was raining and cold that day. A long way away from home. Yesterday we
had a shopping spree-daily necessities and my new shones. We also went
to the au shop in the neighborhood because we wanted to buy either iPhones
or smartphones. Today I had a lot of miscallanesou work to do, such as
checking reports, preparing a checklist for the coming sign-up assistance
period, and sticking checklists onto evevelopes. Also had an English study
session.
Friday, Janaury 20, 2012 Cloudy, occasioonally sprinkling.
The last day of the third term. Luckily I had no class to teach. However,
had to check around 30 reports. Also put the envelopes with exam papers
in them into the cabinets as usual. In the meantime, had a Korean study
session as well. Two students came over, asking for help with their reports.

Lousy weather all day. It felt as if the coldness was penetrating the
body. Shinping mail to students took almost an hour, even working altogether.
Then there was this explanation meeting about the sign-up assistance period
schedule for the third week of next month.

The last schooling of this school year was OCⅠ. There were around 30
reports to check. The three of us English teachers had a meeting today
about three things-how many classes each English Ⅰlesson should be divided
into next school year, the sum-up of the Enlgish department, and next school
year's contract teacher.

At Daiso bought a stool which can be used as a footrest. It may break
down, but I hope it will serve the purpose for some time. I had the Korean
test back. The score was not too good because I misspelled three words.
Time was so limited when I took the test last week. As usual I felt tired
in the evening while listening to the Chinese teacher.

On the way home there was an accident involving death or injury on the
usual railway line. Had to wait for half an hour or so. It took them two
hours or so to save the situation. What a county is this? This is a daily
occurrence now.. And every year more than 30,000 people commit suicide.

Worked on my own my own way. Checked some reports and printed the final
exam papers. Had an English study session as well. Back home worked on
the Super Crossword. It was quite knotty this time.

Did not go out today except that I took a walk this morning. Watched
"Three Kingdoms" and "The First Emperor", both Chinese
dramas. My wife out all day to take care of her sister, who is to be opearated
on.

Taught two classes in a row-one on the 8th floor and the orhter on the
7th floor. Just moving up and down was a hassle. For the past three days
I have drunk a certain kind of sake. I think I like it. Aging, I have little
to enjoy. However, I turn my eyes on little things which everyone takes
for granted. There lies the meaning of life now. Life sure is paradoxical...

There were two meetings at work-a Student Council teachers' meeting and
a regular staff meeting. Then had a Korean study meeting. Also summed up
on this school year's fire drills and put the document in the file on the
Intranet.
Wednesday, January 11, 2012 Cloudy and cold.
This morning woke up rather late. Went to the library to check out some
books and bought some raw fish for lunch on the way back. At work so busy
checking reports. There were over 30 of them. Got so exhausted. Besides
some students came to see me for help. I had to prepare two copies of a
graduate's transcript, too. No time to breathe at work today.

Day one of the Chinese course. So-so. Left almost all my Korean textbooks
at home. Too bad. What a start for the Korean course! I ate dinner out
this evening. Ate to the full.

Today being a holiday, took it easy at home. Studied Korean and Chinese
a bit. Tomorrow I will be attending both my Korean and Chinese classes.
Well, I may be overloading myself for my age.

Reported for work pretty early. Bought some bread near the station. Worked
almost as planned. On the way home made a stopover to buy something to
eat for suppoer.

Until late in the afternoon did things almost as planned. Then took a
nap and watched the usual Chinese drama "First Emperor." Ate
supper and took it easy. Tomorrow I will have to go to work early.

The English Interview Room was lit on the fifth floor-quuite deserted
as usual. Worked almost as planned. Comfortable in a way because I had
the room all to myself. The cleaning of the room, however, was half done.

Day two of the year 2012. At work worked on my own my own way like yesterday,
but a bit less enerrgy. Maybe tomorrow is like today, too. As soon as I
got back home from work, did the Super Crossword. Too an hour or so.

Went to work for the first time this year, working my own way. Got the
Assess-and-Nurture Sytem final rerort almost ready. Finished reading a
library book, returning it on the way home.

Our 32-inch TV set finally boke down completely today. Wife called the
company for repair. Tomorrow a repairman or two will come. Half back to
normal. went shopping at the usual supermarket for bread and some other
things for lunch. Spent the afternoon mostly reading. Also thought about
some New Year's intentions.

Went to see my mother by train for the first time in many years. My sister
came to pick me up at the station where I got off. Spent a few hours with
them. This time I went there alone.

Slept almost all day after taking wa morning walk instead of going to
see my mother. Last night I ate lukewarm and soggy buckwheat noodles to
see the old year out, to my regret.
