My au one ID just did not come to me. After a few trials and errors at
home, managed to get it. Again some paper work for signing up for the mutual-aid
society's health insurance. All this procedure is really a hassle.

Unimaginably hectic. Four exams to invigilate, the Reading exam papers
to mark, around 40 reports to correct, quite a few students to help with
their reports, and so on. From the time I got to work until the time I
left for home, just kept working. Little time to breathe.

My life is in a rut, and so is my work. Day in and day out it is monotonous.
For one thing the workplace is rigid. Another thing is that there is not
much fun around. Boring. Things are just stagnant in this day and age.
So much for unconstructive grumbling. Life goes on regardless ...

The work just dragged one with students coming on after the other. Marked
the OCⅠexam papaers and inputted the results. Last night drank a lot.
For the first time in many days I had that scintilating scotoma again.
So hit the sack early.

Yesterday stayed home most of the day and relaxed. Went to the library,
too. Today was a workday. However, I kind of miscalculated hours and ended
up taking an hour off. Anyway spent the day almost according to plan for
the rest of the day., preparing for the sign-up assistance period, having
an English study session, and so on. On the way home dropped by the department
for bento for supper.

Superduper hectic day. Besides had a very unruly and abusive student
come over for the first time in many days, which reminded me of the good
"old " days in my former workplaces. I got carried away in spite
of myself. I had long forgotten about such students becuase the present
school is quite peaceful. Well, I am afraid this school is changing, too,
in quality, in many ways.

At work a staff meeting as usual on the third Thursday. The usual rigid
atmosphere. Still have to prepare for eight more students for the sign-up
assistance period.

Still preparing for the sign-up assistance period. So far 14 students
are almost. Exhausted. Helped some students with their reports. One of
them came and asked me to check the reports out of turn, which is really
bac manners. A long call from a homeroom student asking me to do something.
So busy all day. Checked over 30 reports, too.
Tuesday, January 22, 2013 Rainy and then cloudy.
Taking a half day off, off to the Korean language school as usual. After
that off to work. Preparing little by little for the sign-up assistance
period. Looks like it will take longer tyhan usual as things are a lot
more complicated than ever. Well, things will work out if I prepare enough
beforehand, hopefully.

Still busy preparing for the sign-up assistance period starting on February
8. Today sent mail to the six students in my class who decided to be away
or absent from school this past school year. Took one hour off and came
back home in the rain.

Yesterday stayed home all day, taking it easy and reflecting on the past
week. I have not read much, above all, not in English. On Monday need to
make a phone call to make sure about part of the retirement procedure.
Today made a plan for reading. Nothing seceeds without good planning, you
know.

It has been cold all day today. Still busy preparing for the sign-up
assistance period next month. Today there was a guest lecturer on learning
disorder. I was supposed to set up the PC for Power Point. This lecture
lasted for two hours or so. Before this, went down to the office to ask
some retirement-related questions. It seems that there was some important
sheets missing from the envelope they had sent me. Good thing I asked the
clerk today. Otherwise, I would be in serious trouble.

There was an explanation meeting about the sign-up assistance procedure.
It lasted for nearly two hours. Quite tiring. After that prepared a couple
of letters to send to the students. Also for tomorrow's guest talk, asked
a fellow teacher to tell me how to use Power Point in the AV room.

Super-duper busy at the workplace. Over 40 reports to check. Several
students to help with their reports. Two classes to teach. Part of the
retirement procedure to do. No time to even brush my teeth. Tomorrow morning
have to read some retirement-related papers. Tired out today.

It was rainy yesterday morning, but I took a walk in the neighborhood.
Howeve, I was out of shape all day. Today went to the Korean classroom.
My Korean was no good. My chronic ailment seems to be back. I need to face
it again, I am afraid. Anyway finished the Super Crossword.

A workday. Early in the morning went slow-jogging. Working all day doing
this and that, I got really tired. One OCⅠkid came over for help in the
afternoon. Printed the finals. On the way home again bought the usual department
bento, which taste really good. Did some more shopping at the neighborhood
supermarkets, including canned cat food.
Saturday, January 12, 2013 Cloudy
Woke up rather late. Went slow-jogging for 30 minutes or so. Ate breakfast
and went out. Did a little shopping and bought something for lunch, too.
Late in the afternoon went out again to buy some doughnuts. Drank coffee
with family eating the doughnuts. Worked around the house as well, cleaning
the balcony. Dismantled the clothes rack in the bedroom, too. Listened
to the iPod a lot to catch up.
Friday, January 11,. 2013 Fair
Left the workplace after working all the way. There was a line of people
in front of the office waiting for the time for them to leave the workplace.
Well, we are controlled by machine today. The management depents a lot
on cumputers. Tezuka Osamu's prediction is coming true. What a bleak future
we are having!

The staff meeting ended around 4:00 pm. Took four hours off and left
the workplace. Bought two pork cutlet bento at the usual department. This
school is not longer in my mind now. Everything going on around me looks
hollow and futile. What a fuss! No leeway at heart for warmth or long-sightedness.

Another busy day. A lot to do for the graduating students. Also a transcript
to prepare. No time to take a break until I left the workplace. I heard
anothe say that htere will be almost none reemployed here. Well, in a way
I have worked enough here. It may be time I were leaving.

Went to the Korean classroom and then to work. Took one hour off and
came back home because the others in the same were leaving early. There
was nobody else on the same floor. On the way home returned three library
books through the book drop as the library was already closed.

The first workday of the year was super-duper busy. Kept working all
the time until I left for home. I had to correct around 30 reports. I taught
two classes and helped some students with this and that. I am retiring
soon and hopefully getting reemployed. Maybe not here because quite a few
old teachers before retirement age have filed for shortend working hours
this next school year. No wonder because old teachers have hard working
conditions nowadays.

Went to Joshin twice. First, to look for something for my wife's mother.
Second, the PC mouse did not work. The pointer moved of itself, and I could
not control it. So, I had to buy a new one. Anyway it is OK now. Finished
watching the Korean drama "The Moon Embracing the Sun." Just
followed the plot of the story. The drama is miscast.
Saturday, January 5, 2013 Fair
Did a little cleaning. Viewd some dramas and Ikegami Akira's "Easy
Economics." This morning again the baseball old men were there in
the park playing catch and hitting a ball. Quite dangerous. Wild old men.
So, jogged somewhere else.

The first working day of the year. Not too many at work. Just exchnaged
New-Year greetings with some. Did some work and took two hours off. I hear
next year none will be reemployed here. Well, whatever will be will be...
By the way, I have not made any New Year's resolutions yet. Should I make
some by the 15th?

My wife, I, our first-born son, and his wife went over to Mom's place
and ate lunch together there. My borther's daughter's baby was brought
in and got everybody's attention. I drove both ways. We took a box of herring
roe, which was my late father's favorite.

Woke up and did the daily routine as usual. Began watching another Korean
drama on DVD, "Th Moon Embracing the Sun." Also watched "Easy
Economics" by Ikegami Akira on TV. Did no cleaning at all. Neither
did my wife.

Although it is New Year's Day, it is business almost as usual. I did
my daily routine-doing the radio exercises, going jogging, going shopping,
etc. My wife went out to some One Piece-related exhibition and a One Piece
movie with her socond son and his ex-girl friend. In the meantime, I took
care of the mother-in-law. I prepared her meal. Last night I finished watching
the Korean drama "The Deep-Rooted Tree" on DVD. It is on the
process of creation of the Hangul- very Korean...
