　We usually have staff meeting on Thrusdays. Today none. Thank heavens! When reading some Korean today, I misunderstood a phrase. That happens. Out of use, out of mind. Made one OC�Thandout and sent the 2nd-term results to the homeroom students.

Wednesday, October 30, 2013 Cloudy

　Gave some students retests or makeups. Checked some reports and made the last Reading handout for the third term. Marked the exam papers, inputting the results. Double-checked the data after getting the printout. Took three hours off to leave this stressful workplace and take it easy.

Tuesday, October 29, 2013 Cloudy

　Off to the sign language "circle" in the morning. Today somebody was giving a lecture in sign language. Their level of sign language is too high for me. Eight years' absence is a long time. I chose the Korean language then. In the evening off to the Chinese class.

Monday, October 28, 2013 Fair

　At work gave some students makeups. Also marked the exam papers, inputted the results, checked some reports, and helped a couple of students with their reports. Worked enough.

Sunday, October 27, 2013 Fair

　It has been rather chilly today. I finised reading the library book this morning. And contirued to read two or three more. So I was at home all day except when I went jogging in the morning.

Saturday, October 26, 2013 Cloudy

　Late last night drank too much. Too bad. This morning got up quite late. Had this morning's jog along the usual road. Refreshed. Tried to finish reading a library book. Could not do anything else.

Friday, October 25, 2013 Rainy

　Today's slow jog was done under an umbrella. Not bad. At work invigilated the OC�Texam, marked the exam sheets, and inputted the data. Checked some reports, too. Did some other routine chores as well.

Thursday, October 24, 2013 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.

　At work made another Reading handout, checked some reports, heped an OC�Tstudent with her reports, etc. On the way home from work did some shopping.

Wednesday, October 23, 2013 Rainy and then cloudy.

　A full day at work. Made a Reading handout, checked some reports, invigitaled one exam, marked the Communication English �Texam papars, was on parking lot duty for a while, etc. Worked more than enough.

Tuesday, October 22, 2013 Cloudy

　I did not attend the sign language club's weekly meeting. I had somewhere else to go. In the evening went to the Chinese class.

Monday, October 21, 2013 Cloudy

　It has been rather hot-above 25 degrees Celsius. Mraked the Reading exam papers and, after inputting the results into the computer, sent them to the students. Checked 26 reprorts or so. There are complaints about the Communication English �Treports. Made a Reading handout for the next term.

Sunday, October 20,2013 Rainy

　Stayed home except when I went slow-jogging in the morning, which means I spent the weekend just taking it easy. I did some reading, some cleaning, etc. Thanks to the nasty weather I was able to relax at home.

Saturday, October 19, 2013 Rainy

　Took a walk under an umbrella around the town for the first time in many days because of the rain. The scenery has changed with some new houses built here and there and some old houses torn down. Well, things are changing before you know, you know. Things will go on even after I am gone as if I had not existed.

　I have had a full day today at work. Made a handout, invigilated the Reading exam, checked dozens of reports, etc. Marking the exam papers has to wait.

Thursday, October 17, 2013 Fair

　I wore just two layers of clothing-a long-sleeved shirt and a short-sleeved undershirt to work. I felt a little chilly. At work there were two meetings. The first one was nice and short, and at the second one it has been decided that the chief of each section is to be appointed by the boss, not to be elected by mutual vote, from next year on-unilateral management, prevalent here and there now. A sign of the times. A scary one, I am afraid.

　The temperature has dropped suddenly. I was lightly dressed and felt quite chilly. At work finished making one Reading handout and checked 25 reports-quite a few.

Tuesday, October 15, 2013 Cloudy and then rainy.

　In the morning went to the sign language club and in the evening to the Chinese class. It was a bit chilly after dark. I wore a short-sleeved shirt then. My wife did not wake up early enough for breakfast during the consecutive holidays.

Monday, October 14, 2015 Fair

　Sports Day, a national holiday. Went to the library, checking out five books. On the way home did some shopping-cat food. Read a little and did a little cleaning here and there. The heater has been delivered. Going to use it in my cold little room while reading and studying, where it is quiet, no noise from TV being watched by my better half. Good grief.

　My 61st birthday. Toward the evening went to Joshin by bike to buy a heater and a lamp. The wind felt a bit chilly. My wife bought me a birthday cake. Ate it with her mother.

　Was listening to iPod almost all day. It is already tomorrow, and I am 61. Little did I dream that I would ever become this old. Gone are the days when my heart was young and gay...♪

Friday, October 11, 2013 Cloudy, hot, and windy.

　My wife is under the weather because of the home-made juice, which was okay in summer, though. We have to stop making this delicious juice at home. It does not agree with her. I took three hours off and came back home, finding her lying on the couch with her hand on her stomach. Too bad.

Thursday, October 10, 2013 Cloudy and so hot and humid.

　At work we got together and worked together for shipment of printed matter to students. Made a Communication English �Thandout. Placed the Reading exam sheets in the cabinet.

Wednesday, October 9, 2013 Cloudy, rainy, and so very hot and humid.

　The weather is weird. It is already October, though. The climate seems to reflect today's world. Weird! At work checked dozens of reports. Printed the Reading test.

Tuesday, October 8, 2013 Cloudy and still hot.

　Attended today's sign languge club meeting, where I relearned some words or sentences. I have forgotten a lot. It has been eight years since I stopped learning sign language because of my study of Korean. Went to the bank to transfer some money to a different bank. An insurance payment. In the evening went to the Chinese class. The third session of the course.

Monday, October 7, 2012 Fair and another exttremely hot autumn day.

　The thermometer stood at 33. something degrees Celsius at work. I was wearing just a T-shirt. Even in the T-shirt I sweated a lot. Checked over 30 reports and taught two classes in a row. Also had an interview with the boss about next year's employment. Helped a serious Communication English �Tstudent with her reports, I realized again that this year's Communication English �Tis quite a disaster.

Sunday, October 6, 2013 Fair and too hot for autumn.

　The cruise was fun. The old town of Sakai was surrounded by a moat when I was a little boy, but now part of the moat was buried. The boat cruised the remaining part of the moat and just a little bit of the bay. It took around one hour. I used to live in this vicinity, but the place was almost out of recognition.

　During my jog this morning, it was a little rainy, but anyway I jogged as usual. Checked in three library books, one of which I decided not to read because I judged it would not be worth it. I bought some preventive medicine for motion sickness, for I am going on a little cruise tomorrow morning. I get seasick.

　We English teachers had a long meeting at work. As the saying goes, "So many men, so many minds." I hate fruitless and endless arguments. Let bygones be bygones. Sticking to the past produces nothing. That is it. This year's English �Twill be "indigestion" in a word. Poor students!

　Come to think of it, I forgot to write in this online diary. It just slipped my mind. My wife has been under the weather for the past few days. This evening I bought something to eat for supper and had it on my own. She is an ex-nurse, so I have nothing to say to her in terms of medical advice. She knows better, I guess.
