ネット上で日記は、個人的にはthe last
thing I want to
doでした。しかし、英語を書くことが
学習の一環と言う立場にあるものが、sampleになるのも意味のないことではないだろう、
自分も毎日、英語に接する機会も増えるし、また、このホムペになんらかの足跡を残すことに
もなるかな、などなどlong,
sleepless autumn nightに考えて、半ば勢いでcreate。
3-sentenceとなってますけれども、not
necessarilyです。要するにnot longということです。

Wednesday, April 30 Cloudy
Went slow-jogging late in the morning as usual. There were some familiar
faces there. In the condo, which is nearly 29 years old, a strange noise
happened recently upstairs. I asked the janitor to check it out. However,
he failed to bring in a plumber the day before yesterday. Our second son
came back from Tokyo last night. He quit his job as of today.
Tuesday, April 29, 2014 Rainy
Played Candy Crush Saga on and off all day online. Went to the library
to return a book. On the way home bought a lot of cat food. It was rainy
all day today, so no jogging.
Monday, April 28, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.
Went to work as usual. Got so tired not from working but from playing
the game. Just checked the data of the graduating homeroom students with
my partner. It took us a little less than an hour.
Sunday, April 27, 2014 Fair
Been to work. This morning started playing Candy Crush Saga, but I do not quite understand what iti is all about. I have no idea which is jelly or candy.
Saturday, April 26, 2014 Fair
Slow-jogged along the road this morning for 40 minutes or so. Relaxed
for the rest of the day. Heard on an American podcast program called Science
Friday that games can be condusive to your health. I want to play a new
game but I have no idea which one fits me.
Friday, April 25, 2014 Fair
Left work at the fixed time. Today at work got the acquired credit data
of the graduating homeroom students ready and wrote the students' names
in the grade book after the English teachers' meeting. I drank too much
last weekend, and my stomach is in poor condition. I need to refrain from
drinking sake.
Thursday, April 24, 2014 Fair
Today being Thursday, I work from 12:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are usually
two meetings. Today's meeting did not end by 4:30 p.m., so I left the conference
room before it was over. Also all the staff got together and had a few
pictures taken around 2:00 p.m. before the regular staff meeting.
Wednesday, April 23, 2014 Fair
Off to the clinic in Suita City. After seeing my doctor went upstaris
for rehab. The doctor said that there is nothing that can be done for now
but rehab. He also said that ossification will take time. The rehab person
was a very good one. Made an appointment for rehab only next time.
Tuesday, April 22, 2014 Mostly cloudy.
Went to work because this past Sunday was a holiday. I was in no mood
to work hard, so I finished reading a book. Took an hour off. Tomorrow
I am visiting the clinic in northern Osaka, whete I had my neck MRIed.
Monday, April 21, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally drizzling.
While it was not raining, went jogging in the morning. Because I leave
home at one o'clock in the afternoon, I can spend time in a rather leisurely
way in the morning. Went to the hospital for neck traction while not rainy,
too. At work worked at my own pace.
Sunday, April 20, 2014 Cloudy
Went slow-jogging in the morning for 40 minutes or so, listening to my
iPod as usual. Planned my week as usual. Reading several library books
little by little. It was rather chilly outside. Cold weather has returned
when the cherry blossom viewing season is almost over. Next we are having
the azalea, rose, and iris seasons in turn.
Saturday, April 19, 2014 Fair and then cloudy.
Went to the English conversation school. While talking about this and
that, one lady said that teachers should sing the national anthem because
they are salaried workers. It is a matter of opinion, but I feel people
are leaning to the right. Japan may wage war again in the near future.
Singing the national anthem is all right, but even teachers should not
be forced to do it. It is a kind of violence rahter than an act of compliance.
Friday, April 18, 2014 Rainy and then cloudy.
While it was not raining, went jogging in the "park." At work
did some stats on the homeroom students with my partner. Took some time.
Put the homeroom data in order. Began preparing for my first classes in
May. On the way home on the train somebody's body kept hitting me. A drunk
white-collar worker. Getting off at the usual station and walking through
the shopping area, two elementary kids eating bream-shaped bean jam pancakes
with their bikes blocking the way.
Thursday, April 17, 2014 Fair and cloudy.
No meetings at work, which is good and I was able to do other work. Talked
with my homeroom partner and prepared for the first Inclusive Hour. I have
around 10 graduating students to take care of this year. In the No.1 Staff
Room printed out the pay slip, the amount of which is a peanut, after selecting
the right printer there.
Wednesday, April 16, 2014, Fair
Every Wednesday is a day off this year, so I relaxed all day today. Returned
some library books and checked out one. Toward the evening my neck began
to ache. It has gotten a little chilly. My doctor said I should measure
my blood pressure daily and report the data to him next time. My dad had
hypertension, and so do I.
Tuesday, April 15, 2014 Fair
A day off. Off to the sing language "circle" in the morning.
Went slow-jogging in the afternoon. Took a nap and off to the clinic for
the usual neck traction. Called Mom and said that I would come to see her
during the "Golden Week." Checked out four reserved library books.
Got to "hit the books."
Monday, April 14, 2014 Cloudy
Went to work this morning. Helped a colleague help his new homeroom students
go through the necessary procedures after the entrance ceremony. We were
all done a little befroe 3:00 p.m. Around 4:00 p.m. helped put away the
folding chairs and the platic sheets in the gym. Took less than half an
hour.
Sunday, April 13, 2014 Cloudy
A bit chilly today, which is no good for my neck. At work on duty in
front of the gym until 10:20 a.m. Then back to the room ate an early lunch.
The entrance ceremony was over by 10:45 a.m. Walked up to the classroom
around 10:55a.m. Helpled collect the papers and then began helping with
the sign-up procedure, finishing a little past 2:00 p.m. Inputted the data
with a colleague. Quite exhausted.
Saturday, April 12, 2014 Cloudy
Slow-jogged along the road for 40 minutes or so this morning. Took it
easy at home with our two cats. Read a book or two. Got to return a couple
of library books I finished reading, too. Tomorrow is a workday, a super
busy day, the sign-up after the entrance ceremony.
Friday, April 11, 2014 Fair and then cloudy.
Just back home around 10:30 p.m. At work prepared for the day after tomorrow.
It took me around three hours. Got to school about 2:00 p.m. Began checking
the so-called sing-up assistance sheets with the school records with a
colleague around 2:30 p.m. Past 3:00 p.m. began to make what are called
"block sheets" for each student. I have nine students to take
care of. It ended around 6:30 p.m., eating supper about 5:00 p.m. I had
no time or energy to take a double check. Just tired out at the end of
the day.
Thursday, April 10, 2014 Fair and cloudy.
Shipment day. Sent the students some printed matter. An explanation meeting
was held for the coming sign-up days. I was given so much work to do. I
am not a full-time worker. Exploitation!
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 Fair
A day off. Relaxed almost all day. Watched a serial KBS Korean drama.
In the afternoon saw Ms. Obokata on TV. It was a long press conference.
Maybe more than two hours. She insisted that STAP cells exist. Although
spring is here, I still feel a chill in the air.
Tuesday, April 8, 2014 Fair

Been to the local sign language club. Paid the annual fee(2.900 yen),
including insurance( 500 yen), and signed up for this year. During recess
went to the library to check out a reserved book. Relaxed at home for the
rest of the day. The Chi-lips are in full bloom in the backyard. They are
small and purple. There were seven of them there.
Monday, April 7, 2014 Fair
Went slow-jogging as usual in the "park" for 40 minutes or
so. The tiny tulips in our backyard were in bud last week. They may bloom
soon. They were planted nearly twenty years by my wife's sister Chi-chan,
so we call them Chi-lip, not tulips. At work made a sheet which has all
the main points to be taught in C English Ⅰduring the first term. Got
ready the school records of the homeroom students who guit school.
Sunday, April 6, 2014 Cloudy
It was rather cold today. This morning slow-jogged along the road for
about 40 minutes. Went to work today. On report room duty from 11:50 a.m.
to 13:00 p.m. Quite busy. Being a reemployed worker, I may not have enough
time to prepare for the sign-up procedure assistance, so I contacted the
persons in charge. One of them was understaning, but the other was nonchalant.
Well, I will work as far as I am availabel physically and timewise.
Saturday, April 5, 2014 Cloudy
Slow-jogged for 30 minutes or so before I went to today's discussinon
session in English. Today's topic centered on English per se. Our instructor
explained two points about communicative English-(1) drop the final vowel
sound (2) be careful about the th sound, which is often confused with the
zed sound by Japanese.
Friday, April 4, 2014 Cloudy and cold at night.
Did a lot of checking in preparation of the signup procedure on the 13th.
Worked for four hours or so, checking figures. So tired. Left for home
9:15 p.m., getting back home around 10:25 p.m.
Thursday, April 3, 2014 Fair and then cloudy.
Two staff meetings-the Info section and the whole staff. The latter ended
sooner than I expected. Could do some extra work. Yesterday's Chile jolt
caused minor tsunami here and there along the archipelago. The circum-Pacific
belt is now in an active seismic period. We Japanese are afraid of earthquakes,
thunder, fires, and fathers(?).
Wednesday, April 2, 2014 Fair and then cloudy.
Today is a day off for me. I belong to the night section of this high
school for this school year. I work on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and
Fridays. On Mondays and Fridays I must report to work at 2:00 p.m.. I get
back home around 10:30 p.m. My wife is cleaning the living room because
our first-born son and his family are coming this weekend before he leaves
for his new workplace in the Kanto area.
Tuesday, April 1, 2014 Fair
Day one of the new school year. Quite hectic all right, but on the way
home there was a railway accident resuliting in injury or death, and my
train was delayed for over ah hour. To make matters worse, there were two
railway trespassers and my train was brought to a standstill and I was
confined in this crowed train for over half an hour. What a day! It is
no April Fool's Day joke.
