ネット上で日記は、個人的にはthe last
thing I want to
doでした。しかし、英語を書くことが
学習の一環と言う立場にあるものが、sampleになるのも意味のないことではないだろう、
自分も毎日、英語に接する機会も増えるし、また、このホムペになんらかの足跡を残すことに
もなるかな、などなどlong,
sleepless autumn nightに考えて、半ば勢いでcreate。
3-sentenceとなってますけれども、not
necessarilyです。要するにnot longということです。

Sunday, November 30, 2014 Cloudy and then rainy.
Just two classes to take care of today at school. There did not seem
to be very many students. The weather is going to turn cold the day after
tomorrwo. Got to brace for it.
Saturday, November 29, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.
Yesterday played Scrabble until very late and forgot to write in this
online diary. This morning went to the English discussion group. I felt
less talkative than usual. Our discussion centered on the peculiar mentality
of the Japanese people from the Westerners' viewpoint. Tomorrow is a worklday.
Thursday, November 27, 2014 Cloudy
I had to go somewhere early this morning. While I was at it, I returned
two library books through the book drop. At work I kept busy. On the way
home I bought some bread and did some shopping at the usual supermarket.
Back home I had the two cats waiting for me to feed them although I was
dog-tired.
Wednesday, November 26, 2014 Rainy, occasionally cloudy.
All day at home except when I went slow-jogging in the park with my wife
at home. Did some cleaning and read a book.
Tuesday, November 25, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.
Went to the dermatologist becauset some of my toes were itchy. I thought
I had athlete's foot, but as it turned out, I did not. I keep losing in
SCRABBLE these days. I have had some strong players in a row. There is
always someone better.
Monday, November 24, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally sunny.
Went out by bike to buy a sweater or two with my wife. Ate udon for lunch
on the way back. At night jogged with her in the park. Finished reading
a book. My cats want attention from me all the time, so I am busy taking
care of them at home especailly on off-days.
Sunday, November 23, 2014 Sunny, occasionally cloudy.
Last night I had terrible diarrhea. I was moaning in bed. Something
I ate during the day did not agree with me. I had nausea, too. This morning
I was OK and went to work.
Friday, November 21, 2014 Sunny, occaionally cloudy.
At work two teacheers visit my Communication English Ⅰclass, where no
communicative actitivy was done. Those students are so passive they seldom
participate. This has never happened at this school. Maybe the quality
of students has changed. I cannot force them to read aloud in class.
Thursday, November 20, Sunny, occaionally cloudy.
Two meetings at work. The latter one dragged on. I wonder why some people
never think about somebody else's time. On the way home made a stopover
and did some shopping.
Wednesday, November 19, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally sunny.
I got a flu shot and refrained from taking exercise today. I am getting
along in years, and my body is deteriorating day by day. My left knee and
right elbow jpints hurt these days. I hope for PPK but who knows?

In the morning went to the sign language circle. On the way home went
shopping at the usual supermarkets. Bought some things for lunch and supper.
At home did some cleaning here and there.
Monday, November 17, 2014 Cloudy
Today was the deadline for the second term. Some students came at the
last minute. The time limit was 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 16, 2014 Mostly cloudy.
At work students came see me intermittently between classes. I had three
classes to take care of and also was on library duty for 70 minutes. I
was kept rather busy all day.
Saturday, November 15, 2014 Fair, occasionally cloudy.
Been to the discussion group at the nearby English converation group,
where there were around ten of us, including the instructor. Back home
ate lunch and took a long afternoon nap as usual. Actually, I fell asleep
automatically when I lay down. Tomorrow got to report for work early in
the morning. I find Sunday's first period bad because not many students
come to class these days unlike when I first taught at this school over
ten years ago. Things and students have changed!
Friday, November 14, 2014 \cloudy, occaionally sunny.
Although I had no classes to teach, I found today's work rather tiring
with students coming to see me one after another. I gave one of them a
makeup, too. The students who came today sounded serious. I still find
Facebook's Scrabble unplayable.

The temperature dropped suddenly. At work there was a lecture or talk
for teachers. The subject was "hate speech." I have a feeling
that this country is at risk because of this exclusive trend. In Japan
there are more people who never hesitate to hurt others' feelings. It is
a pity.

Went to the clinic up north in Osaka. The excellent physiotherapist looked
so busy, and so was my young doctor. Nothing special. While waiting and
on the train, read a book. Check out some books at the library on the way
home.
Tuesday, November 11, 2014 Cloudy, occaionally fair.
Made the year-end tax adjustment at work. It is a hassle every year.
First, delete unnecessary insurance items if any. Second, type the annual
insurance premium. Third, put my address, my name, and my stamp on the
printout.

At work I had no class for the first time in many days. Just gave a couple
of students a makeup or a retest and helped a student or two with their
reports while correcting some reports. There were some phone calls from
outside, too.
Sunday, November 9,2014 Rainy and then cloudy.
Taking the 7:30 a.m. train, I went to the university where the STEP interview
tests were being held. Interviewed doezens of examinees and was done around
3:30 p.m. Just exhausted but I did what I like, so it was worth it.

Went to the clinic my wife's mother usually goes to with my wife an her
mother. Decided to have a new family doctor. The usual one is getting older
and less enthusiastic these days. He is about to retire maybe. Tomorrow
I am working as a STEP examiner all day.
Friday, November 7, 2014 Cloudy
I had two classes to teach tonight. One was C English Ⅰand the other
the so-called Inclusive Study Hour. These days in my English classes my
main aim is to have the students understand the content of each lesson,
so I explain both in English and Japanese using sheets and magnets. Also
an extra worksheet with some blanks to fill in with some keywords for the
lesson. This style seems to work with these students. I cannot set my goals
very high.

Went to work and had two meetings. Then prepared for tomorrow's class.
Considering the students' ability in English, I needed to prepare another
worksheet. Bought something for supper on the way home. I have a sore throat
now. I sweated on the way to work and the sweat must have taken some heat
away from my body.
Wednesday, November 5, 2014 Fair, occsionally cloudy.
Sat too much in front of the PC playing,. The sedantary position is no
good in many ways. However, I went slow-jogging twice today to offset the
sitting time. From tomorrow on I need to be mindful of how long I sit in
front of my desk.
Tuesday, november 4, 2014 Fair
My wife's mother ran a fever. She was taken to her doctor and given a
drip transfusion. My wife is going to take her to the clinic again. She
looks tired. Her mother is 92.
Monday, November 3, 2014 Cloudy and then fair.
Just slow-jogged with my wife in the park. A boy and his mother were
enjoying flying a kite. The boy let go of the kite string by mistake. His
mother ran and ran, successfully grabbing it in time. Nice catch!
Sunday, November 2, 2014 Cloudy
A workday. The first period was OCⅠ. The class size is so small but
participation is OK. The fifth class was C English Ⅰ. The class size is
not so small, but participation is poor. Gave one retest and helped a student
in the Interview Room. Bought some bread on the way home.
Saturday, November 1, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.
At home all day doing nothing in particular. It is too warm for November.
There seems to be something wrong with the climate. Maybe climate change.
