My 3-sentence Diary
ネット上で日記は、個人的にはthe last thing I want to doでした。

Gave some students either a makeup or a retest, helped a student with his report, and handled a complaint. Boutght some sake on the way home.

Thursday, October 30, 2014 Fair

At work corrected some reports and gave an OCTstudent a makeup. Spent some time talking with my colleague in the same room. On the way home bought some bread.

Wednesday, October 29, 2014 Fair

While slow-jogging in the park with my wife today, a group of bullies were bullying a couple of kids. The boss was so insistent and pesky with a bat in his hand. One of the kids began to cry and was allowed to go. The remaining two were on the verge of crying. Because it looked dangerous, I talked to the bully. Although he was a kid, he was already a gangster. I said, "Holding a bat that way is dangerous and threatening." Of course, he would not listen. Later on the place was full of adults-maybe some of them were teachers and parents when I passed by to go shopping.

Tuesday, October 28, 2014 Fair

Been to Himeji with some sign language group members. The weather was nice, and Himeji Castke was beautiful against the blue sky. Did not know that Kuroda Kanbei was converted to Christinanity. His armor had a cross-shaped emblem. I twisted my left knee while running down the staris in sandals, so today I walked very carefully.

Monday, October 27, 2014 Mostly cloudy.

There were downpores in places in the afternoon. The climate has become really strange. Tomorrow is the sign language circle's outing day. Have to get up early.

Sunday, October 26, 2014 Fair

A workday. Gave some students either a makeup or a retest. Helped a student or two with their reports. The floor was kind of deserted.

Saturday, October 25, 2014 Fair, occasionally cloudy.

At home almost all day. Tomorrow is a workday. Today is our second son's 32nd birthday. When I was 32, life was not easy. I was working for a so-called difficult school, but looking back, my students were not so bad. Now at my present school, things seem peaceful on the surface, but I do not know what is going on deep inside of all those students.

Friday, October 24, 2014 Fair

While on parking lot duty, talked with a colleague. The quality of students and their parents has changed so much, to our regret. There used to be more empathy and sympathy at school, but we have apathy and antipathy, I am afraid.

Thursday, October 23, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally fair.

Today was not my day. First, I left my train pass at home. Second, I made a mistake about the clock-out time when I inputted the data into the computer. Third, I misspelled an English word.

Wednesday, October 22, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.

All day at home, doing nothing in particular, which is not good for my health. For one thing I eat snacks. Another thing is that I am inactive. Also I lose motivation for anything. I should have gone out.

Tuesday, October 21, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally fair.

Been to the sign language circle in the morning. I wass called on to sign this morning. I was supposed to use three words-"リハビリ","挑戦"(チャレンジ), and "再会." I used the first two, and I explainend they are not correct English. Slow-jogged with my wife in the evening.

Monday, October 20, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.

Marked both the Communication English Tand OCTexam papers. So many students do not understand the progressive form, whicn is rather easy to understand. The students' ability in English has declined remarkably. Manipulating setences out of context is monotonous and boring. The reports do not contain enough of the subjects the textbook talks about. Down with such reports! Think more about enjoying English with students. The one in quetion just won't listen. Incorrigible.

Sunday, October 19, 2014 Fair

Invigilated two exams, corrected some reports, helped a student, and began to mark the Communication English Texam papers. This exam is a mixture of English and Japanese in part and gives me a hard time marking the exam papers. The reports themselves are full of monotonous questions. I wonder what this teacher is aiming for.

Saturday, October 18, 2014 Fair

Been to the English converstation school as usual. Mainly talked about some differences between real English and school English and also about food and tipping. After all, the rest of the world is a win-or-lose society. Japan is the last paradise.

Friday, October 17, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally fair.

, The second-term tests have begun. Invigilated one exam. Corrected some reports and made a new set of reports for next school year. Day 3 of me and my wife jogging together.

Thursday, October 16, 2014 Overcast

Had two meetings to attend as usual. Corrected 16 reports. Still in the process of making a couple of reports for next school year's new subject. On the way home bought something for supper for the two of us. This is going to be the third time we are jogging together.

Wednesday, October 15, 2014 Fair

Been to the clinic far up north. The therapist is excellent here. But it is so far away! The doc nea my home used to be OK, but he is old now and rather nonchanlant and slovenly. Well, generational changes are happening here and there-at work and in the local community.

Tuesday, October 14, 2014 Cloudy and rather chilly.

The temperature has dropped suddenly after the typhoon is gone. Been to the sign language circle. I am participating in the outing in two weeks with them.

Sunday, October 12, 2014 Cloudy

Typhoon No. 19 is hitting my area tomorrow. About a week ago No. 18 came. Late last month Mt. Ontake erupted, causing heavy casualties. What a disastrous era we are living in!

Saturday. October 11, 2014 Cloudy

Went to the hospital for the usual neck traction. Then back home jogged for 40 minutes or so. Relaxed for the rest of the day. Typhoon No. 19 is said to be a super typhoon. We need to brace for it. But actually, we just wait for it to pass over us. Natural disasters are like that. Man-made disasters are different. They should be avoided by all means.

Friday, October 10, 2014 Cloudy

This coming typhoon No. 19 is said to be a super typhoon. I was making a new report for next year. It is going to take some more time. We had an English teachers' meeting. The level of students here is on the decline. I am afraid like student like teacher.

Thursday, October 9, 2014 Cloudy

My piles have been in bad condition ever since September 23, when that evil incident happened. Maybe due to too much stress. I should go see a specialist now.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014 Fair

Had my driver's license renewed. I atteded a traffic safety lecture, realizing that cars are dangerous vehicles and that there are so many irresponsible drivers. The place was full and their instructions were unclear, so I was at a loss about what to do or where to go. There were no good traffic instructions there.

Tuesday, October 7, 2014 Fair

Went to the sign language circle's weekly meeting. Today I was in charge of the so-called "Three Words." The three words I chose were 'Islam', 'disaster', and 'festival.' As stress and fatigue pile up, my piles tend to aggravate. Misfortunes never come singly. An ex-member of the circle passed away this past Sunday at 72. He came to the circle about 10 years ago. It was cancer. May his soul rest in peace.

Monday, October 6, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally sprinkling.

Typhoon No. 18 did not hit my area directly but the wind seems to have been strong. I was asleep then. The temperature dropped suddenly at night. I began cleaning the Interview Room at work.

Yesterday I heard on podcast that gorillas are really great animals, compared with monkeys. Monkeys are so selfish while gorillas are so sympathetic with others. Nowadays humans are becoming more like monkeys. I see so many monkeys these days.

Thursday, October 2, 2014 Cloudy

As usual on Thrusdays there were two staff meetings. Next week is going to be a busy one with so many things to do. Bought okonomiyaki on the way home.

Wednesday, October 1, 2014 Cloudy, occasionally fair.

Today being an off day, I was at home all day. Luckily cleared Candy Crush Saga level 461, the hardest one so far, this morning. It was a miracle.
