This morning the humidity was so high I gave up jogging. At school the
AC in the classroom was out of order, so we moved to a different classroom.
Thursday, August 30, 2018 Fair
Stayed home almost all day except when I went to the park to jog slowly.
My left knee hurts again probably because I used the stairs a lot yesterday
at school.
Wednesday, August 29, 2018 Fair
Taught in the third period. The students were apathetic. I would rather
not teach next year. This is not good for my sanity.
Tuesday, August 28, 2018 Fair
Went to the family doc as usual and was prescribed as usual. My piles
are not so good. Tomorrow is a workday.
Monday, August 27. 2018 Fair
Went to work, teaching in the first period. Got to work earlier than
usual, expecting many 'reports' to correct. Actually, around 20.
Sunday, August 26, 2018 Fair
For the past several days the AC has been kept on and on because of the
severe summer heat. Today went to the nearby gym to learn how to use the
machines-a guidance session.
Thursday, August 23, 2018 Cloudy
Went to see the piles doc. The condition is not too good. Will see the
doc in three weeks. I have a sore throat again. I often have one these
days. My immunity may be on the decline.
Wednesday, August 22, 2018 Cloudy
The heat and humidy are back. The AC is on all day today, too. Typhoon
No.20 is coming up this way and is very likely to hit our area. Too bad.
Tuesday, August 21, 2018 Fair
My wife's birthday. Went to the nearby gym to get registered as members,
at least, until January next year. Also went to the dentist, the library,
and the hospital. The night was too muggy. The AC in use.
Monday, August 20, 2018 Fine
Yesterday was rather cool, but today the hot summer seems to be on its
way back. Today went out by bike with my wife. First, to the nursing home
to make a payment. Then to the bank and the post office to update our bankbooks.
Lastly, went shopping together. I made three mistakes today. First, I was
not able to turn the TV because one of the cords was off the unit, but
I failed to notice it. Second, dropped the shopping bag at the door back
home and broke the shochu bottle. Third, used the ATM at the convenience
store in a slightly wrong way. What a day!
Saturday, August 18, 2018 Fair
Did a slow jog early in the morning to avoid heat as I do these days.
This helps to set the pace of the day. So, above all things, first thing
in the morning, I will go 'slow-jogging' if weather permits.
Friday, August 17, 2018 Fair
The severe heat subsided for the first time in 40 days. Ever since July
8, the weather has been so very hot beyond description-unprecedented heat.
But the heat will come back before long. What a climate we now have in
Japan. This is rather going global, though.
Thursday, August 16, 2018 Cloudy, raining on and off.
Viewed a lot of video recordings, But not much reading today and yesterday.
The AC was on all day yesterday. Today the temperature was bearable and
the AC was off.

Another extremely hot and sultry day. The AC is kept on and on day in
and day out. During the day I often take a nap. Early in the morning, if
possible, I go to the park to jog slowly. The morning air is lukewarm these
days, though.
Monday, August 13, 2018 Fair
I can hardly stand this abnormally hot weather. During the day I hypernate,
and I go out at night. They had terrible downpours over in the Kanto district.
Sunday, August 12, 2018 Fair
My first-born son and his family left for his wife's Mom's place early
in the morning to avoid the heat of the daytime. The kids played a lot
this morning and last night. It is just like a big typhoon has come and
gone.
Saturday, August 11, 2018 Fair
Taking the 7:53 train at the nearest station, I headed for Dad's grave.
I met my sister and mother on the way. On the way home, we dropped in at
a coffee shop. While drinking some iced coffee, I felt sick. Maybe due
to excessive air-conditioning or from lack of sleep last night. I rested
at Mom's place for a while and was on my way home. I was back home around
noon. This afternoon my first-born son came over with his family, staying
overnight.

Just another ordinary day, of which I am appreciative considering the
abnormally hot days in July and August. The piles doc's explanation yesterday
was clear and to the point. An excellent female doctor!

Made up my mind to go to the hemoroids doc this morning. My piles bled
a bit in July, worsening ever since. The doc said "Worse than before."
I need to use different types of medicine.

The temperature is back to normal, that is to say, it is hot as usual.
Not abnormally hot. Returned three library books and bought something for
lunch on the way home. I can go out on foot at this temperature.

The AC is left on and on. They say not to hesitate to use the AC in order
to avoid heat stroke. The second highest temperature was observed in Gifu
Prefecture today-41 degrees Celsius. That is crazy. The atomic bomb was
dropped on Hiroshima 73 years ago. Tens of thousands of people were killed
instantaneously.

I sleep a lot these days in the air-conditioned room even in the daytime.
So do our cats and my wife. It is dangerous to go out in this abnormally
hot weather.

Intense heat continues, and so does our nonstop use of the AC. I am worried
about the electricity bill, but we need to avoid heat stroke. Life before
money.

The AC was turn off this morning and turned on in the afternoon. We cannot
go without air-conditioning these days. Also we need to stay hydrated.

Again the crazy heat wave is back and the AC is kept on to protect our
lives. The global climate has changed for the worse.
