□My 3-sentence Diary
ネット上で日記は、個人的にはthe last
thing I want to
doでした。
Starting on October 3, 2003.

It was very, very hot today. After teaching today's class, a student
came to ask me for help. He is quite smart, but he did not study English
enough in junior high school. Explaining English to him, I realized how
difficult English must be for students like him.

My heart goes to the parents of the primary schoolgirl who was killed
when the concrete-block wall caved in on her at the time of the latest
earthquake. This evening my wife and I cooked supper together. These days
we do so every thursday.
Wednesday, June 20, 2018 Rainy
There was a heavy rain warning at 10:00 a.m., but I called some teachers

Quite a big earthquake happened here in Osaka at 7:58 a.m. this morning.
I was in the park jogging slowly, so I did not quite feel the jolt, but
the earthquake alert scared me a lot. I did not go to work because there
was no trainservice available. Three persons were killed and many people
got injured.

Today I did some cleaning. My life is in a rut these days. I seem to do
things from force of habit. I need to do something about it.
Saturday, June 16, 2018 Fair
Last night had a fight with my wife and went to bed early. At school
something bad keeps happening these days. Some students are indifferent
enough not to participate. No difference from last year. Maybe I should
not expect too much of them. On Wednesday, none participated in oral reading.
This did happen from time to time, but it was so terrible this time. I
mean their apathy. Well, come to think of it, this is such a school.

Taught in the second period. This class was passive compared with the
one on Wednesday. Most students here lack confidence although they have
much pride. They do not want to think that their scholastic ability is
low. Very hard to deal with.
