□My 3-sentence Diary
ネット上で日記は、個人的にはthe last thing I want to doでした。しかし、英語を書くことが
学習の一環と言う立場にあるものが、sampleになるのも意味のないことではないだろう、
自分も毎日、英語に接する機会も増えるし、また、このホムペになんらかの足跡を残すことに
もなるかな、などなどlong, sleepless autumn nightに考えて、半ば勢いでcreate。
　3-sentenceとなってますけれども、not necessarilyです。要するにnot longということです。

　Off to the hospital for neck traction in the morning and off to the au shop in the afternoon after shopping together with my wife for the first time in many days. The woman who talked to us at the au shop was terrible. I decided to cancel my contract with au.

　My very last day at work. Gave them back the keys and my ID card. Also met the boss to get a letter of dismissal, which means nothing to me. Removed everything from my desk and bookcase, shredding the rest of the papers. Did some shopping at the usual supermarket on the way home. From tomorrow on every day is like Sunday.

　Attended my last staff meeting at work today. After that I was supposed to say a few words. I pointed out two common English mistakes found among these teachers-'pigeonhole' and 'partition.' Also I returned the insurance policies to the clerk in charge.

　Since last weekend my neck pain has been so sharp, but I still can sleep, so I will not take the pain killer. It has been almost 14 years since my neck operation. I still can walk and eat, but the time might come when I cannot do things I can do with ease now. Two more days to go as a public high school English teacher.

　Our second son is suddenly back in Osaka, Hie best friend's father is dying. This gentleman is a very well-known person nationwide. He is in Wikipedia, too. I went to three different clinics today. I am still okay because I can go out to those clinics.

Monday, March 26, 2018 Fair

　First thing in the morning, called the ward office and then went there in person. to get info about the national health insurance. Back home called Kyokai-Kempo and asked about the monthly premium for this next year. Comparing the two, and in conclusion, dedcided to continue with the latter because it is a bit cheaper. Sent the so-called quiting-the-job forms.

　Been to my mom's place. Her 89th birthday on March 22. My first-born son contacted me on LINE, asking me what I want as I completely retire. What came to my mind as a wallet.

　In a week or so, I will be fired, but now I have so much COMPLICATED red tape to do. I really hate it. It is so very tiring. So we live iin an age of self-resposibility. What an age!

Friday, March 23, 2018 Fair

　Another cold day but not as cold as yesterday. I am going to help correct Korean 'reports' this coming school year, so I filled in the new Korean report with the correct answers today. As for English, I am not sure what I am going to do as yet.

　The temperature dropped sharply in the afternoon. On my way back from work, therefore, I shivered with cold. On top of it, I hurried up the stairs at the usual station, so I was so much out of breath that I thought I would die. Aging is telling on me.

　It has been rainy for the past couple of days. Hope the sky will clear up tomorrow, Called a cellular carrier to get info because we need to get a new phone which is more reasonable. Also did some cleaning in one of the rooms.

　Just walked under an umbrella in the park for 30 minutes or so. Went to the library in the rain and checked out two books. Viewed some video recordings.

Monday, March 19, 2018 Rainy

　My careear as a high school English teacher came to a virtual end today. I have six more workdays, but not much to do. I might work part-time at the same place although at a disadvantage.

　Went out to see a lecture meeting on OPLL. The lecturer was a medical doctor in his early forities. He was nice to patients. The place was full. As soon as the lecture was done, I decided to leave for home.

　My career as an English teacher is to end at the end of this month. I might work part-timie in the future, but I am not sure. When I am with a young English teacher these days, he or she is like a student. Today my wife took her mother to the dentist because of some denture trouble which caused another problem.

Friday, March 16, 2018 Rainy and then cloudy.

　At work I copied entrance examinees' names, birthdays, and so on from their app;ication forms. I did it for over three hours, taking a break from time to time. Took two hours off and I was on my way home. When I got home, I found that I ddi not have my keys. I called the school and asked one of the English teachers to see if I had left my keys somewhere in the English Interview room. He was good enough to locate them. I am glad that they were there.

　I had the last interview with the bosses. They disclosed their yearly evaluation of my performance and ability. Nonsense! If I work for two more days, I am almost done with this "unhappy sytem."

　Next school year I might work part-time at the present school, but I work only a little, so I need to rethink it anyway. Bought cat food on the way home. Also bought a new electiric toothbrush over rhe Internet.

　Why am I digusted with the current atmosphere I find myself at work? I do not think this system under which we work makes us happy, The bosses do not listen to us. Our mistakes are not forgiven, but the bosses pass the buck. There is no two-way traffic-just lack of trust.

　Jogged in the morning in the park. Went to two different clinics. Spent some time reading at the kotatsu foot warmer.

　Finished reading a library book. It talked about how cold a country ours is! How true! At this rate something more horrible is likely to happen the way it did in the past. History repeats itself.

　Day 2 for the interview tests at work. I took care of seven examinees. Took three hours off and hit the road. On the way home bought some cat food and a bag of cat sand.

　At work I was on telephone duty. There were quite a few phone calls, so I was pretty busy. It was so cold today I did not feel very well, and I made a mistake. My rucksack was heavy with two bentos. I forgot about that and ran up the stairs two steps at a tim. I was out of breath after that and felt sick. I thought my heart would break down.

　Two graduates, my ex-homeroom students, came for their diploma. I checked with the clerk in charge about health insurance. Downloaded the form for continuing the health insurance.

　This was a busy day. First, moving my body in the park for a while, then called the regional health insurance office, went to the hospital for neck traction, and saw my family doctior. All this was done in the morning. After eating lunch, saw a couple of video recordings and off to the dentist. I still need to do some red tape to get registered as a part-time teacher and also to get an extension on my health insurance.

　Day 3 for entrace exam applications. Not many applicants came. Now I have some more red tape such as health insurance, sign-up for teaching part-time, and so on, so tomorrow is going to be a busy day.

Monday, March 5, 2018 Rainy

　Day 2 for entrance exam applications. I double-checked the papers. I took two hours off and left for home around 6:00 p.m.

　It was rather warm in the morning, but as time went on, it got colder. Did a little cleaning, read a little, was on the Internet, etc. Tomorrow is a workday.

　Today is the Dolls' Festival. But we forgot to do something for our granddaughter. Anyway jogged slowly this morning.

　Went to work, wearing a brace on my knee. Fortunately, it did not hurt too much. I need to finish reading two library books because they are due today.

　A violent wind blew in th wee hours. While taking a shower, I had a lower backache. Also my right knee has begun to ache this time. Pain is all over. Too bad. At work the bosses keep giving us unnecessary extra work again and again. I am already fed up with this bureaucracy.
