Tuesday, December 31, 2013 Cloudy
New Year's Eve. Ate buckwheat noodles with my wife. Prepared my new paper
diary, pocket calendar, and desk calendars.
Monday, December 30, 2013 Fair, occasionally cloudy.
This morning's jog was along the road because the usual ones were hogging
the park, playing baseball, which is prohibited there. There is power in
numbers. Went to the library to return some books, but it was closed. The
elevator did not stop at that floor. The floor was shuttered. On the way
home did some shopping.
Sunday, December 29, 2013 Fair、occasionally cloudy.
Got up rather late in the morning, going jogging in the park as usual.
Went shopping for some things. Bought my wife a Mickey pocket calnedar.
Tried cleaing with the steam cleaner my wife bought recently. The dining
table became spit-and-polish. The window, too. However, it takes time and
two persons.
Saturday, December 28, 2013 Cloudy
Got up late in the morning. Almost forgot to take out the garbage. Today
is the last garbage pick-up day this year. Our second son, who came back
home the day before yesterday, misplaced his keys, as is often the case
with him. My wife and I looked for them. She found them, thank heavens!
Friday, December 27, 2013 Cloudy, occasionally hailing and thundering.
Maybe because I worked hard at work yesterday, today I do not feel like
doing anything at home. Just swept and mopped the floor. Read a little.
That was it.
Thursday, December 26, 2013 Cloudy and then rainy.
I usually take a very short nap before leaving home for work, but today
I almost overslept, so I ran and ran to the station. Anyway I made it.
At work, I was alone in the room, doing things as planned. Checked some
reports, calculated this year's medical bills, cleaned the desk and the
room, etc.
Wednesday, December 25, 2013 Fair
Yesterday wrote some New Year's cards and sent them. Checked out three
books at the library. Today went to work. Prepared 6 transcripts for a
homeroom student. Checked 18 reports, which took, me one and a half hours.
This morning our bread maker broke. We bouth it over 10 years ago. Began
calculating this year's medical bills for income tax returns.
Monday, December 23, 2013 Fair
Jogged after 10:00 a.m. in the park. Decided on a picture for the New
Year's card. Will do the printing tomorrow. Last night my brother contacted
me via LINE. He bought a smartphone. I contacted my friend in Kanagawa
by sending a Cmail because he had not responed via LINE. Actually, as it
turned out, he does not have a smartphone. The one I sent a message on
LINE was a different person.

Went jogging in the park in back of the home around 10:00 a.m. for 40
minutes. Refreshing. Ordered two cutlet bowls and later went to get them
after going shopping at the supermarket. Late in the afternoon weeded the
backyard with my wife for around two hours. Got four big size garbage bags
of weeds.
Saturday, December 21, 2013 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.
Spent two hours or so at the English conversation school in the morning.
Took a long afternoon nap. Returned three library books. Finished reading
an English book entitled "Memoirs of a Geisha." Through this book written by an American, I found out a little
about Geisha in Gion.
Friday, December 20, 2013 Cloudy and so windy with snow flurries in the
morning.
Taught the very last class this school year-the last part of The Diary of Anne Frank. Today a fellow English teacher said that he thinks teaching English here
means to take care of each student on an indiviual basis, which is to say
to take individual differences into consideration. Great idea.
Thursday, December 19, 2013 Rainy and then cloudy.
This morning went jogging in the rain-under an umbrella. A couple of
meeting at work. Checked 10 reports. Asked to make the 1st term OCⅠreport
for next school year. OKed.
Wednesday, December 18, 2013 Rainy and then cloudy.
At work had three classes in a row. Just got tired. Have only one class
left on Friday. Thank goodness. It was a cold rain that was falling today.
So, the landscape was drab and dreary.
Tuesday, December 17, 2013 Cloudy
Been to the sign langue "circle". Signed a bit in front of
the member. Forgot some simple words. I keep forgetting sign language,
Korean, English, and maybe Japanese some day. Right now about ten library
books to read. Got to concentrate.
Monday. December 16, 2013 Fair
Went to the neighborhood supermarket to buy cat food because it was 20
percent off. A full day at work, sending the homeroom students' report
status, helping a Reading student with the reports, and printing the Communication
English Ⅰexam. In the first period one of the vice principals visited
my class. Yesterday went to the library to return a book anch check out
several books. Overate myself yesterday.
Satuday, December 14, 2013 Cloudy and windy.
My wfie and mother-in-law went to the hairdresser's. I finished reading
a book and wrote some comments on it, which took me quite some time.
Friday, December 13, 2013 Cloudy, occasionally rainy. Cold.
Just one class to take care of today, but had to prepare a transcript
for a homeroom student, which took me an hour or so. Also revised the exams
a bit, and called a homeroom kid.

At there was a teachers' education session about human rights. We discussed
in groups. This was something of a success. Sharing info this wasy is important.
Wednesday, December 11, 2013 Cloudy and rainy in the evening.
At work just one class to teach. Helped a couple of students with their
reports. Corrected some reports. On the way home it began rainging suddenly.
It was windy, too. Caught in a nasty rain.
Tuesday, December 10, 2013 Rainy and then cloudy. Windy, too.
Instead of attending the sign language circle's Christmas party had to
see the doctors-just regular visits. I think I can take it easy for the
time being workwise, finishing making almost all the necessary handouts.
I have only two more weeks to teach. What a relief!
Monday, December 9, 2013 Fair
At work taught two classes-Oral and Reading. CD3 was kept by the other
Oral teacher, therefore I could not use it in class. Passed around the
exam drafts-Communication English Ⅰand Oral. Helped a Reading student
with the reports. Inputted in the wrong password the other day, so I had
to renew it, which took me some time. What a hassle! Anyway it has been
a full day.
Sunday, December 8, 2013 Fair
Our school festival was held today. I ate oden, tonjiru, and vegetable
soup. The vegetable soup was too watery. Printed the Reading exam. Made
Look Up & Say sheets for Reading. Made the Reading reports for the
first term of next school year.
Satuday, December 7, 2013 Fair
In the morning spent two hours or so discussin this and that at the English
conversation school. Japanese mentality and American merntality are really
different. Took a long afternoon nap. Tomorrow got to get up early for
the school festival.

At work did a lot of printing. Just taught Reading in the third period.
On the way home ran into an acquaintace and talked all the way to our same
destination.
Thursday, December 5, 2013 Cloudy
Took a short nap and left for work. These days I went to work without
taking a rest. Just a little break works. I am not young any longer. Two
meeting as usual. Looked over the final exam drafts, discovering a few
errors. Did some other miscellanesous pieces of work as well.

At work made almost all the handouts necessary for this school year.
The only thing I still have left is the Reading reports for the first term
of next academic year. In today's OCⅠclass participation was perfect although
the attendance was small. Quality before quantity.
Tuesday, December 3, 2013 Fair
Because I had to take care of my wife's mother, I was absent from today's
sign language 'circle'. My wife had to go see her younger sister. In the
evening went out and had a good time eating and drinking with the Chinese
language classmates. Worked on the Super Crossword far into the night.
Monday, December 2, 2013 Sunny and then cloudy.
At work made a couple of handouts and corrected some reports. Also took
care of the fourth period. Maybe because I got up so early this morning
for my morning jog and also because I kept working for five hours or so,
I felt so tired at the end of the day.

All I did over the weekend was cleaning the backyard. I was in no mood
for anything else. In fact, I stayed home all day today. My wife went out
because her younger sister seemed to have a problem.
