Walked the usual full distance this morning. At worked shipped prinnted
matter to students. There was a joint staff meeting in the sultry AV Room,
where we were all packed in like sardines. Put the Reading exam sheets
in the cabinets. Printed some sheets for tomorrow's classes. Returned a
library book on the way home from work.
Wednesday, June 29, 2011 Fair
Walked half the usual distance this morning because of the summer heat.
At work taught three classes in a row and one meeting to take care of.
Then checked pver 20 reports. Had to run off 2000 copies of the eratum
for the fire drill. The day ended, but my work didn't. I hit the road tired
out.
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 Fair
Felt dull in the morning maybe from lack of sleep in this hot weather,
so decided not to take a walk. Felt sleepy almost all day, but went to
the Korean language school and took a midterm exam. I think I got full
marks. Coming back home. ate okonomiyaki for supper, drinking beer. Intended
to have read a couple of books, falling asleep under the influence of alcohol.
Monday, June 27, 2011 Fair but so windy.
Yesteday evening we had our son's girlfriend over and ate supper together.
Today was a full day. Although I had just one class to teach, I had a few
students to help with their English. Also there was an extra meeting for
Student Council teachers. The fire drill for the daytime section is to
be done on October 5. I called the fire station about this alteration.
I had a call from a homeroom student's family as well. Had an English study
session, too. Checked in a library book on the way to work. I still have
to study for tomorrow's Korean class.
Sunday, June 26,2011 Fair
Another windy day. Visited the fire station with my colleague and discussed
a possible fire drill plan with two fire fighters there. Coming back to
work, began making a sheet for the fire drill, finding another error. The
date was wrong. On that day there was one more period, namely, the fourth
period. Will have to fix it ASAP andd call the fire station about the possible
correction.
Saturdday, June 25, 2011 Fair
There was a cond board meeting this morning, lasting for an hour or so.
My wife took her mother to the doctor as usual. I sent my son to work.
Went out with my wife in the afternoon , doing some shopping at Konan,
Joshin, and Seiyu. Relaxed in the eveing drinking beer etc. Sprinkled pesticide
around the house. Centipedes just give me the creeps. Will watch the last
episode of the Korean drama "Giant" tonight.
Friday, June 24, 2011 Fair and windy.
So windy the blinds were fluttering dangerously. While teaching in class,
sweated a lot and drank a lot of water. Called the fire station again.
Will go see them this coming Sunday around three. Today had two ESS members
to take care of. Also an English Tkid to help with her reports. At any
rate a hectic day after all.
Thursday, June 23, 2011 Fair
When I got home, I found the kitchen clean. My wife has begun to clean
it throughly for the first time in many years. Is it because my desk is
always clean these days? Has it had a good influence? I really hope so.
The books I have read lately talk about four steps of cleaning-take out
everything, sort it out, reduce unnecessary stuff, and put the rest back
where it was. That's all.
Wednesday, June 22, 2011 Cloudy
Had a club advisers' meeting for this year's club budget. Some expressed
their opinions after I explained what had been discussed among the Student
Council teachers. We have not reached any conclusion yet. In order to get
a breakthrough, I rummaged about the Intranet, finding a very useful old
file. This meeting took place after I taught three classes in a row, so
at the end of the day I got reducd to pulp.
Tuesday, June 21, 2011 Cloudy
It has been a long day. Took a morning walk as usual. Bought bread at
the supermarket as usual. On the way back, got side dishes for lunch as
usual. Went to the Korean language school as usual. Went to work in the
evening and made a couple of handouts. Today we had a new Washlet installed
and also had the screen door mesh replaced.
Monday, June 20, 2011 Rainy and then cloudy.
Last Saturday did not go to the English conversation school. Just relaxed
all day because I was tired out. Yesterday running all around shopping.
Bought a new Washlet, cat food, daily necessities, etc. Today took it easy
at work.
Friday, June 17, 2011 Cloudy
It is now the season of hydrangeas. I get off at the station near my
workplace. There are some beautiful hydrangeas here and there while walking
to work. They feast my eyes. I told my fellow worker about this. He walks
to work from the same station, not noticing the hydrangeas. So hectic at
work today. I took care of 80 students. Corrected quite a few rerports
as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcrEqIpi6sg is the song I listened
to tonight drinking sake.
Thursday, June 16, 2011 Rainy
Getting up early, worked on the Super Crossword for a couple of hours.
Felt very tired halfway while taking a walk later. At work kept making
booboos. The fire drill draft plan was defective. There was something wrong
with the club budget. While correcting the mistake in the club budget,
found out another error in the settlement of accounts for last year. Reported
it to the clerk in charge and quickly corrected it because it will be published
in the leaflet. It was like walking a tight rope. Phew!
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 Cloudy
Had a hectic day at work. First period was Reading. Had a couple of students
asking me questions. Had to check over 30 reports, which took me nearly
three hours. Had a Korean study session, too. Called the fire station for
the fire drills in September. Will go see the one in charge tomorrow. Too
exhausted to think on the homeward-bound trains.
Tuesday, June 14, 2011 Cloudy
Intended to have had a haircut today, but already had one the day before
yesterday. Took a morning walk, went shopping for bread at the supermarket
as usual. Around noon left for the Korean language school. The classroom
was hot at first, but later it got too cold because of air-conditioning.
On the way home dropped in at the library and bought okonomiyaki for supper.
Drank a can of beer as well and got sleepy.
Monday, June 13, 2011 Fair
Diary is essentially personal, but this diary is open t o the public.
Therefore, I cannot express myself too freely here. At any rate, I may
have to keep a paper diary as well where I can talk about anything freely.
At work so busy checking reports, preparing for the fire drills for September,
making an OCThandout, and so on. Had a couple of students in the English
Interview Room.
Sunday, June 12, 2011 Rainy
Made an Reading handout, ate a sandwich for lunch, and had an English
study session. I did not have to be one of the judges this afternoon. One
of the sports teachers did it for me. Besides there were not too many students
participating today. So, I had some extra time for my own use. I made an
English Thandout, too.
Saturday, June 11, 2011 Rainy
Spent a lot of time straightening out the mess in the rooms. Disposed
of quite a few old books and sheets. Aslo took apart the bookrack I made
in my thirties because I thought it were time to let go it and go back
to nature. As for humans, renewal is the only way for survival. Therefore,
saying goodbye to the old has to be done someday. Tomorrwo there will be
ball matches at school. I will be one of the judges.
Friday, June 10, 2011 Rainy
I found the washlet out of order this morning. Too bad. Left home for
work without my glasses. Too bad again. At work had to make a test without
my glasses. Too bad again. After all, this was not my day. However, inscrutable
are the ways of Heaven
Thursday, June 9, 2011 Fair
Finished filling in the school records with necessary information. Really
exausted. Began making this school year's fire drill draft plan. Will have
to adjust the club budget as well. Also will have to visit the fire station
soon. There was an English teachers' meeting, where two of us were absent.
Anyway discussed the budget and the extra session for students right before
the exams.
Wednesday, June 8, 2011 Cloudy
We had volleyball matches at school today. My homeroom class had the
most students present, so we were given lots of junk food for the prize.
We lost in our first match, though. After that I had a Korean study session
as usual. Then eating suppper, began filling in the school records with
necessary info on my homeroom class students. It is not done yet. It must
be finished as soon as possible so that I can begin making a Reading test
and also a fire drill draft plan, etc.
Tuesday, June 7, 2011 Fair
I did not feel like doing anthing this morning, but anyway went to the
Korean language school, taking four hours off, and then to work. Had an
interview with the bosses. Made an OCThandout and read a book. Looks like
stress has piled up, which means I may have some kind of binge.
Monday, June 6, 2011 Fair
One of the English teachers called in sick, so another taught instead.
I taught three classes in a row. Checked 30 reports and helped a couple
of students with their reports. It was past seven that I had my supper.
I took my canteen with me today. It is easy to dehydrate at this time of
the year. I tried to take four hous off but I could not. The boss in charge
of that must have forgotten to correct the schedule online. I will do it
tomorrow.
Sunday, Nune 5, 2011 Cloudy
Stayed at home almost all day, watching TV and reading, except that my
wife and I took a walk late at night. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day.
Now I will write in my paper diary and also write a comment on the book
I have just finished reading. Our son is going to Kahima on business for
a couple of days after doing a presentation at the Osaka branch.
Saturday, June 4, 2011 Fair
In no mood to do anything today although I went to talk in English at
the usual place. Most of them seem to be for the new Osaka oradinance that
teachers stand up and sing the anthem in front of the national flag as
role models of their students-a sign of the times. Their interpretation
of the anthem is different from that of teachers of my generation. Most
people have little idea how busy and tired we teachers are working in this
stressful situation.
Friday, June 3, 2011 Fair
Another busy day. Today the Osaka Prefectural Assembly established a
new ordinace requiring that all teachers stand up and sing the anthem on
ceremonial occasions. This goes against the trend of the times, I am afraid.
Osaka-Ishin-no-kai won by force of numbers. What a tyrannical party! They
never learn from the past. History repeats itself.
Thursday, June 2, 2011 Cloudy
On getting to work there was an extra Student Council teachers' meeting
for over an hour. My initial plan was wrecked. Anyway sent my homeroom
students their report status reminder and prepared a couple of handouts
and also the second-term reports for my partner to check. Cleaned the English
Interview Room after eveyone else left. This morning walked with my spouse
for the first time in many days. Our son came back early because he felt
tired.
Wednesday, June 1, 2011 Rainy and cloudy.
At wrok kept working all the time, checking reports, making handouts,
etc. Exhausted at the end of the day. No time to clean anywhere. During
today's homeroom hour, talked about human rights. I chose the topic of
Koreans living in Japan and deaf people. The class participated anyway.
Back home, the cats running around me noisily. Rascals!
