Radiation leaks from the nuclear plant continues. Our country is still in great trouble. At work I relaxed for the most part reading. Had the English Interview Room all to myself. Listended to Business English as soon as I got there. On the way home got oden for supper. Received a lellter about my pension. I will be getting only a peanut in two years.

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 Cloudy

Continued to put the stuff in order at work. Almost done. The homeroom student came anyway-two hours later than she said. Better late than never, maybe. The nuckear disaster continues with the preisdent hospitalized with hypertension. Listened to Tachibana Takashi on iPod. He is already 70 years old. No wonder I am two years shy of 60.

Tuesday, March 29, 2011 Cloudy

Waited for a graduating homeroom student, who called, saying she could not come. I will give her her diploma tomorrow. The nuke crisis continues and the whole country is still on maximum alert, which is not good for our sanity. Began putting the English Interview room in order all on my own.

Monday, March 28, 2011 Fair

At work corrected the errors in the school records, to beign with. Then read some English-related book in preparation for the next school year's English classes. I had the room all bo myself today for the most part and could take it easy. On the way home returned three library books through the book drop. My wife had to attend the condo's board meeting to decide who does what.

Sunday, March 27, 2011 Fair

Watched two Chinese dramas and two Korean dramas on TV. I wonder what this country's government is doing about the present nuke crisis. Because of lack of information or lack of the truth, we are all worried and anxious. Radiation is invisible, and it makes us all the more concerned about the future. Half of this nation is going to be ruined.

Saturday, March 26, 2011 Overcast

Went to the usual pet shop to buy the usual cat food. Drove there with my wife-our son's car. One more time, we will not go there any more. The nuclear plant is still in serious trouble. At home did not feel like doing anything. Only watched some dramas on TV.

Friday, March 25, 2011 Cloudy

Radiation keeps leaking the reactors in Fukushima Prefecture. The situation is so serious. Three men have been exposed to a high level of radiation while at work there. I wonder how much longer it will take to save the situation. Everything depends on it. Otherwise, it will be the end of this country.

Thursday, March 24, 2011 Cloudy

A judgement conference for transfer students. Then an extra staff meeting. There a case of power harassment was taken up anonimously. I wonder why that is. Who did it? It is not fair. The personnel committee announced personnel changes for next year at this school. Had a haricut on the way home. Bought something for supper because my wife did not feel well.

Wednesday, March 23, 2011 Cloudy

Had lunch together with some friends near my workplace. One of them is about to retire, and another is now away from work because of illness. We had fun chatting while eating. Sent 17 homeroom students a notice. Handed in two change-of-section slips.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 Cloudy

Been to the dentist, but the filling may not stand long. Cannot avoid aging. Took 90 copies of the newspaper to the sign language club. On the way back bought some bread. Stuying Korean for some time went to the Korean language school. Today had the last session for this term. The next term begins on the 19th of the next month.

Monday, March 21, 2011 Cloudy

Attended a friend's wedding. I had company at the place, so I had fun talking while eating and drinking. I hear it is very costly to have a wedding inviting lots of friends. In my case, I just invited relatives. Coming back home tired, took a nap for a while.

Sunday, March 20, 2011 Coudy

Judgement conference for junior high graduates. Did not take long. Then an extra staff meeting, which did not last long, either. English Ureports turned out to be short, so we prepared 50 more. Came back home and watched some Chinese and Korean dramas as usual.

Saturday, March 19, 2011 Cloudy

Yesterday interviewed fewer examinees than the day before yesterday. Today my wife took me to "Tempest," a play starring Nakama Yukie, who is more or less to my liking. The play was all right, but I wanted to sit closer to the stage. I learned that Okinawa was a foreign country with its own culture. The language sounded like a foreign language.

Thursday, March 17, 2011 Cloudy

Interviewed around 30 examinees for three hours in a row. Got really exhausted. Ate a quick supper within 15 minutes. In my opinion, in order to admit more students, something must be done about the present application guidelines, etc. Otherwise quite a few applicants must give up their high school education. They used fire engines in trying to inject water into the pool at the No.3 reactor in Fukui Prefecture, but the reactors still seem to be in great danger of meltdown. Aftershocks just keep happening, too. Some foreigners have already evacuated the area or this country like rats desertiing the sinking ship.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011 Cloudy and cold.

It has gotten cold. It must be very cold in the eathquake-hit areas up in the Tohoku district. Besides the nuke reactors still stay in danger of meltdown. This is the first priority. Our second son is still in Tokyo, and we are concerned about his safety. Radiation levels up there just keep going up. The Tokyo Electric Power Company's staff members seem to be trying hard, but their anxiety is showing on their faces on TV. What will become of this country?

Tuesday, March 15, 2011 Cloudy

The whole country is in crisis because of the nuke reactors at risk. Should they explode, this country will be ruined. Radiation is said to have been detected even in Tokyo about 200 kilometers away. Day 3 of the first half of the entrance exam period (Schedule A). Had an interview with the bosses for the nurture-and-assess system. The atmosphere was kind of rigid as usual. I do not believe in this evaluation system. .

Monday, March 14, 2011 Cloudy

Day 2 of the entrance interview test period. When I got to the station where I change trains, the usual train was not there, so I took the one after that, which meant I would be late for work. Something like this happened before. Then I explained to the station attendant, but he did not believe me. However, I tried again. The attendant today gave me a tardy slip, saying he was not supposed to issue any unless it was certain. Anyway I was not telling a lie. It is just that their system is faulty.

Sunday, March 13, 2011 Cloudy

A workday. Day 1 of the entrance exam period. Interviewed more than ten examinees as if nothing had happened in the Tohoku region. Back home watched two Chinese dramas and a Korean drama. The nuke reactors in Fukushima Prefecture are still problematic. Their explanations were full of technical terms and hard to understand.

Saturday, March 12, 2011 Cloudy-The nuclear reactor meltdown in Fukushima Prefecture

The big earthquake, the tsunami, aftershocks, fires, nuclear meltdown etc-so many problems stiill remain. As the media reported, the situation proved to be more than devastating-so many casualties. Some towns and cities just disappeared in the Tohoku district. Pandemonium across the country, and this is not the end of all this. There will be subsequent earthquakes because of this mega earthquake.

Friday, March 11, 2011 Cloudy - The "Greak Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami"

What a big earthquake it was this afternoon while at work! Lots of fatalities and casualties. On top of all that the tsunami were really horrible.
This morning went to the dentist and checked out a library book and bought some oden for lunch. Yesterday was the last day of the entrance exam application period. Not too busy.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011 Cloudy

Paid the tuition for the next term of the Korean language school this morning. Bought oden for the three of us for lunch. Our son went to work later than usual. Day 3 of the entance exam application period. All the transferees' next workplace has been made known. If one is transferred to a so-called "difficult" school after age 50, it may be hard to survive the way things are these days.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011 Cloudy

The TV drama "Merlin" resumed last night. I wonder why I like this kind of story. Is it because there are some prototypes like the wise old man. In this drama Merlin is still young. But his master is wise and old. Went to the Korean language school. My Korean was in poor condition today. Too bad, but no wonder because I lack practice these days. Maybe I am lacking in passion. I need death and rebirth experiences.

Monday, March 7, 2011 Rainy and cloudy.

Kept myself indoors all day. Waking up at midnight and unable to get back to sleep, my sleeping pattern was kind of wrecked and I felt out of shape. As a matter of fact, I was in pain in the morning for the first time in many days. In no mood to do anything, sort of depressed. Decided to lie down and rest for the next workday.

Sunday, March 6, 2011 Cloudy and then rainy.

A workday. Day 1 of the entrance exam application period. I helped to fix the date and time of each applicant's interview. Applicants thronged in for the first two hours. I filled the school records with the students' grades. Took a couple of hours off and came back home. Watched "Shu Gensho", a Chinese drama, and "Giant", a Korean drama.

Saturday, March 5, 2011 Fair

Went to the English conversation session this morning. Our instructor talked a lot about English pronunciation today. I was the family chaufeur today. My mother-in-law, who is on a wheelchair, needs my help as a driver. My wife takes care of her for the most part. I have a few Korean dramas to watch today-"Giant", "Kumiho", and "Mystery Police Detectives." I watched "Sonshi-no-heiho", too.

Friday, March 4, 2011 Fair

The deadline for this school year. I had five or six students over. They either finished their reports or took their makeups. These students always came at the last minute. At work busy with Student Council treasurer stufff. Back home saw the Korea drama "Hero," the last episode.

Thursday, March 3, 2011 Overcast

Went to school later than usual. There was an information meeting about the entrance exam procedure. Collected class money settlements, but still several claaaes are not done yet. Had two English Tstudents over, who are going to take their makeup tomorrow.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011 Cloudy

The day after tomorrwo is the deadline for this school year. Made a couple of phone calls to students. Homeroom money kept coming back, but I still have 20 homeroom teachers or so left. Returned one library book and checked out four. Did some shopping on the way home. I will compose a haiku.or two. Plodding my way home, in a dark and cold rain, the heaviness of my feet. / My eyes on the wet street, image of my dead dad, days gone by..Trashy works!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011 Rainy and cloudy.

Did not go to the sign language club. I may quit it. I cannot afford the time and energy for it the way things are-so much stuff on my plate. At night worked on the Super Crossword. This time it was tougher than usual. My wife, not feeling well, was fast asleep in bed even when our son sent her a couple of text messages. I replied for her.
