　Today I retired at the age limit. In April I get reemployed for at least another year. I hope to teach English and enjoy doing it from April on as well. At work one contract English teacher quit and a new reemployed one is coming next month. I know who this one is. Quite a few colleagues have retired this academic year.

Thursday, March 28, 2013 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.

　There seems to have been something wrong with my circadian clock ever since last Friday, when I drank some sake and went to bed a bit too early. So, I decided to hit the sack late enough, say, around 11:00 p.m. Our new health insurance cards have come. They are valid from April 1 on. Got to send the old ones to them.

　Just rested well at home yesterday. Today at work suddenly adked to make a sgort farewell speech because I am retiring in two days, I just said what wa most meaningful being here at this school. But they always take us by surprise. Not fair.

　Yesterday at work sent some of my homeroom students a letter, notifying them of the sign-up procedure. There was an extra staff meeting, too, which lasted for over two hours. Today just worked on my own my own way.

Saturday, March 23, 2013 Fair

　Been to Mom's place by train. Yesterday was her 84th birthday. Ate lunch together and talked a lot. My sister joined us later. Yesterday at work there was a health department teachers' meeting.

　So very busy again with the entrance exam. Like the day before yesterday kept working until around 7:30 p.m. Got to go see Mom on her birhtday with a present.

Wednesday. March 20, 2013 Cloudy, occasionally rainy.

　Small particles called PM 2.5 are said to come flying over from China. Then need to wear a N95 mask. What a world we live in now! Now air, too, is unsafe. Chinese people must not be well-informed about the danger of this kind of stuff. What a country!

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 Cloudy and so hot.

　Yesterday had an interview with the boss, who usually has a poor opinion of most of us. I did not expect too much of him. There was a curriculum committee meeting, too. We English teachers will have no extra hand to help us, that is, part-time teachers. Today busy interviewing examinees for four and 30 minutes almost in a row.

Sunday, March 17, 2013 Overcast and still chilly.

　"Slow-jogged" for 40 minutes or so first thing in the morning as usual. Went out twice to go shopping. Bought something for lunch and supper. At home listened to my iPod a lot. Spring is almost around, but I still feel a chill in the air. Students and their parents rate us teachers, and one of my colleagues had a bad rating and kind of complained. Then the boss raised her rating. There seems little reliability, that is, it is all up to the boss, who has the power of life and death over us. Now we teachers live in such a world. Cold and cruel world. Besides this kind of rating brings about a split among us teachers, which is their intention. We are losing incentive and motivation, too.

　Running around by bike all afternoon to go shoppoing at the Do-It-Yourself shop, the jeans shop, and the electric appliance shop. Also dropped by the noodle shop for supper. Yesterday took two hours off and came back home. There was one simple mistake in one homeroom student's sign-up sheet, so called him and corrected it.

　At work checked the sign-up assistance sheets in pairs. This work continues into tomorrow. The temperature dropped sharply today. Beforegoing to work, went to the bank with my wife to pay for next year's health insurance, quite a lot of money. Also pay the Korean language school tuition.

Wednesday, March 13, 2013 Cloudy and rainy.

　There were two meetings to attend. Exhausted as usual. It was raining cats and dogs for a while. When I hit the road, it almost let up. Handed in the medical certificate and did the procedure online later for my absence on account of the flu. My wife's iPad will not get connected to the home wifi network. She is having a hard time.

Tuesday, March 12, 2013 Fair

　Well, I have got to hand in a medical certifiacete for the flu Igot this past week. I will call my family doctor tomorrow. Also I will have to pay quite a lot of money for my social security after retirement. Been to the Korean language school. Keenly felt the need to improve my listening comprehension. At work worked a lot and prepared for the next job to be done on Thursday and Friday.. Finding out a misatke, made a phone call to a homeroom kid.

Monday, March 11, 2013 Fair

　I think I am over the flu, but I still feel weak. I have lost 1.5 kilos. My throat is still a bit itchy. My cat wants to play with me and kiss me, but it is no good for her. Should any remaing virus get into her system... While sick in bed, the beautiful sound of the euphnium over the radio consoled me.

Saturday, March 9, 2013 Fair

　Yesterday and today my body temperature was around 36.2 degrees Celsius. I may be able to go to work tomorrow. I still feel weak, though. While sick in bed, finished reading a book entitled 『生物と無生物のあいだ』, which was quite interesting. I liked biology in high school, but that DNA and RNA stuff was so complicated then. Even now it is. However, now I know the significance of all that to a certain extent.

Thursday, March 7, 2013 Over cast

　This past Sunday at work I felt a chill working in a sweat after jogging for a while. Back home that night I kept coughing overnight. So tired but went to work on Monday. Feeling so tired and coughing a lot more, took two hours off. On Tuesday went to see my family doctor. I got the flu, A type one. So been down with the flu in bed so far. This morning my body temperature was 36.8 degrees Celsius. In my opinion, however, working on the Super Crossword on Saturday was the last straw.

Sunday, March 3, 2013 Cloudy and cold.

　Day one of the application period. Rather cold working there at school. I have an itchy throat, coughing a little. Phlegm keeps coming out. Back home drank some wine with my wife. Just taking this nantenn nodoame.

Saturdday, March 2, 2013 Fair

　Today being a holiday for me, went jogging for 40 minutes or so first thing in the morning. Very slow jogging. Watched the leftover video recordings for a few hours. Worked on the Super Crossword for a couple of hours. This one was tough. Took a nap, ate supper, went out to return five unread library books through the book drop.

Friday, March 1, 2013 Cloudy and then rainy.

　Took an hour off because I had done all the work of the day-the school recodrds etc. There was an explanatory meeting for the entrance exam as usual.
