There was a joint teaches' meeting on our annual budget. Also had an interview with the boss. Took only 15 minutes. The book I am reading is on logotherapy. According to the late Dr. Frankle, there are three kinds of wills―the will to pleasure, the will to power, and the will to meaning. The first two ones will never lead to contentment, but the last one matters in life.

Just one homeroom class, where I was supposed to deal with the subject of human rights. I just explained by and large by using the school leaflet because I thought it is important for the kids to have a general idea. Checked over 20 reports, which was so tiring. Lots of other miscellaneous jobs as well, such as printing, checking on something for a student, and so on. Finished reading a library book on slow jogging, which was quite intresting.

Tuesday, May 29, 2012 Coudy, rainy and thundering from time to time.

Although went to the Korean class, made quite a few mistakes in speaking. Last week I was absent, so for two weeks I have not spoken Korean. That might be part of the reason. Our little cat is still shaky. Hope she will make it back to health. Went shopping in the evening. I drove for the first time in many days. Almost forgot how to drive a car.

Monday, May 28, 2012 Fair

This may be about time I were ending this online diary. I will be retiring soon. Well, maybe it can wait until this coming August .... Again our little cat is in poor condition. It may die soon...

Sunday, May 27, 2012 Fair

Outing day. Nine of my homeroom class kids came, and I kepet company with three of them at Osaka Castle. It has been quite a hot day. I got to the meeting place well in time, that is, before 10:00 a.m. We were dismissed before 4:00 p.m. My headache still stays with me, starting the day before yesterday. What's wrong?

Saturday, May 26, 2012 Fair

Stayed at home almost all day. Our little cat is still sick, on a drip daily at the vet's. They say she is getting better. Read a paperback and watched the recordings of the Korean serial drama. In the morning spent some time looking for the rule booklet for the condo complex. Tomorrow is our school's outing day. I am not so inclined to go because these days there is too much control on everything from the management. No leeway.

Friday, May 25, 2012 Rainy and then cloudy.

I had a headache this morning, and I still have it at the end of the day. This Korean friend came to see me as usual. She had a bad cold. Her voice was hoarse. Maybe due to the sudden drop in temperature, her system just got upset. So did mine. I

Thursday, May 24, 2012 Cloudy

A graduating student judgement conference for nearly one and a half hours, starting at 1:00p.m. Then teachers' human rights education followed, lasting for less than two hours. All this ended well before 5:00 p.m., which was good because I was able to do other work such as preparing for the next couple of classes and sending mail to the graduating students of my homeroom class. By the way, I shredded some of the sheets used for the teachers' ed, which took me some time.

Wednesday, May 23, 2012 Fair

It has been a hectic day. We Human Rights Committee members worked together for two hours, printing and stapling the sheets for tomorrow's event. Took us two full hours. I ate my supper quite late. I barely made it correcting "reports." There were dozens of them.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 Fair

A substitute holiday. Usually go to the Korean classroom, but today had my large intestine examined with an endoscope for the first time in my life. Took me almost a whole day. Failed to return the library books in time. Overdue. First thing in the morning do it tomorrow. The sick cat is alive thanks to the vet.

Monday, May 21, 2012 Fair

At around 7:25 in the morning viewed the annular eclipse for the first time in my life. With the help of a special filter, the image was very clear. Our second cat had its blood tested. She turned out to be suffering from hepatitis. She is seriously ill. She has to go see the bet every day and get a drip transfusion.

Sunday, May 20, 2012 Cloudy

Attended two Chinese classes. If I want to speak Chinese, I need to immerse myself in the language, I know. Well, looks like the process has begun, but this language is a bit hard to handle. I may die tomorrow, but I still need to delve into my possibilities.

Saturday, May 19, 2012 Fair

Did nothing in particular except that I took a morning walk. For the rest of the day just relaxed , reading, playing with the cats, watching TV, and so on. Our younger cat is sick now. Hope she will get better.

Friday, May 18, 2012 Fair

Taught just one Reading class and was on duty in the counseling room for two hours. Attended a Chinese class at night. Back home went straight to bed. Not much more to do.

Thursday, May 17, 2012 Cloudy

There was only one staff meeting, but the atmosphere was heavy as usual. These days that is the case, so naturally the morale goes down. We are Japanese, a peace-loving people. We love harmoney among people, but the situation is to the oppoiste nowadays. It says in the Bible that a house that stands against itself will perish. That is what is happening now.

Wednesday, May 16, 2012 Fair

Busy working until past 7:00 p.m. at work, when I began to eat my supper. So hectic. Teaching two classes in a row, checking around 20 reports, and attending a meeting, which lasted a little over an hour.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012 Cloudy, occasionally sprinkling.

Substitute day off. Went shopping in the morning as usual-bread and side dishes. Went to the Korean class as usual. On the way home bought two bento at the department store. Went to bed rather early.

Monday, May 14, 2012 Cloudy

Right before leaving for home, happened to have a student hard to deal with-crooked.-not in my homeroom, though, reminding me of the days when I had a hard time with students day in and day out. This kind of thing may happen out of necessity in order to become aware of complacency. This world is full of troubles and hardships. This reality never changes. Nevertheless life goes on...

Sunday, May 13, 2012 Cloudy

Printed the handouts for the next couple of classes and handed in the first report of the so-called Assess-and-Nurture System. Wrote down the points to leanr as well so that I could put them down on the board before class. Read a paperback. In the afternoon in charge of the medical checkup.

Saturday, May 12, 2012 Cloudy

Took an hour-long walk this morning. Then watched all the recordings of the KBS morning drama and the Chinese drama I am presently watching. Late in the afternoon left for my mother's place. Mother's Day. Talked a lot and ate supper. Went there and came back home by train.

Friday, May 11, 2012 Cloudy

People come and go, and things remain or are gone. This process has been repeated over and over in human history. What for? Whose intention? What meaning does it have? Eventually I will disappear. So will everybody else. Teaching students English is all right, but it is no good that it is assessed by someone who is not capable of assessing it. That is a tragedy. No, it is a commedy. What a laughable situation! There is more to education than this austere scene with such one-track mind people in power.

Thursday, May 10, 2012 Fair

One of the books I am presently reading says words determine the state of your brain or consciousness. So, watch your language. Simple but some truth in it. A staff meeting today at work, and then shipped mail to students. Then read a book or two for a while after eating suppper. On the way home the air felt so chilly.

Wednesday, May 9, 2012 Cloudy, raining and thundering temporarily.

Running around all day. Two classes to teach in a row, and then came the homerroom and was in charge after that for the checkup. Eating supper quickly, off to a meeting. Then helped do a lot of printing. No time to breathe.

Tuesday, May 8, 2012 Cloudy

Did the super slow jogging in the morning. Also went shopping as usual for bread and side dishes. On my way to the Korean language school, returned a video to the library, checking out two books. After learning Korean at the school, went to work and prepared for tomorrow. Back home, drank a lot. Fought with my wife again the day before yesterday. I am still immature. I cannot understand women...

Monday, May 7, 2012 Cloudy

On the way to work I met with a passing rain, but I took an umbrella with me because the sky was kind of dubious. At work only one class to teach but so many students, some unruly ones as well. Just several "reports" to check. We English teachers are always so busy teaching classes while others are otten shooting the breeze, but the bosses seem to be indifferent. Their concern must be toword something else.

Sunday, May 6, 2012 Cloudy, lightning around noon.

A miff with my spouse again. Women may be smart than men, but they tend to pay little attention around. Their attention is subjective or toward someone or something they love ore are interested in. Hence not their husbands. While their loved one is around, they are content.

Saturday, May 5, 2012 Cloudy, thundering in the afternoon.

Our second son went back to Tokyo in the late afternoon. His stay lasted for about a week this time. His big brother did not come to see him. Watched a new Chinese drama at night for a couple of hours. Getting fun.

Friday, May 4, 2012 Cloudy

Read a book on and off. Returned a library book and donated some paperbacks to the library. Did my daily constitutional twice-in the morning and at night. I kind of overate today. Got to watch my weight.

Thursday, May 3, 2012 Cloudy

Did nothing in particular all day. Just slow-jogged in the morning and walked briskly in the evening. That is it. Did some shopping for lunch for my wife and our second son. Our second son went out in the eveing to see some of his high school friends, coming back home in the wee hours of the next day.

Wednesday, May 2, 2012 Cloudy and rainy.

Went to work today, too, getting ready a Assess-and Nurture System report to hand in to the management and also some handouts to be used for next week's classes. By the time I left for home, the workplace, especially the floor I was on, was quite deserted. Actually, the workplace is like a desert, though. No oasis.

Tuesday, May 1, 2012 Fair

Went to work today, making the second-term assignments (called reports at our school) for Oral Communication Tand Reading. As a result, so exhausted. Took me several hours. In the meantime, did some super slow jogging with a colleague. Before leaving home this morning, finished solving the Super Crossword. Hectic!
