ネット上で日記は、個人的にはthe last
thing I want to
doでした。しかし、英語を書くことが
学習の一環と言う立場にあるものが、sampleになるのも意味のないことではないだろう、
自分も毎日、英語に接する機会も増えるし、また、このホムペになんらかの足跡を残すことに
もなるかな、などなどlong,
sleepless autumn nightに考えて、半ば勢いでcreate。
3-sentenceとなってますけれども、not
necessarilyです。要するにnot longということです。

Just two meaningless staff meetings, which are one-way traffic as usual.
Just a waste of time for the most part.

Happened to find that one of the graduating students needs to attend
Homeroom. Tried to contact her. Just left a message. What a problem!
Tuesday, November 28, 2017 Fair
Today being an off day, I was on the move in the morning. First, my usual
morning slow jog in the park, then off to the hospital for neck traction,
back home and then went out again to buy two new pairs of jeans. On the
way home bought something for our cats. Toward the evening went to see
the dentist-my monthly visit.
Monday, November 27, 2017 Fair
Taught Communication English Ⅱ As usual, participation was poor. Apathy
is prevalent among daytime students. But this may apply to most students
nowadays. And it is catching.
Sunday, November 26, 2017 Cloudy
Did nothing in particular yesterday and today. Just watched some video
recordings. The temperature dropped late in the afternoon.
Friday, November 24, 2017 Fair
Taught in the first period today. There were a little over 30 students
present. Participation is the same as ever. They whisper when I tell them
to repeat. Well, that is how they are. I cannot force them.
Thursday, November 23, 2017 Cloudy
This morning I could not jod the way I usually do because the place was
a bit muddy, so I walked mostly on the hard conrete path. At home did some
cleaning. I wiped the floor mostly. My remaining workdays are numbered
now. I am sick and tired of working under this sickening system, but I
miss teaching students English.
Wednesday, November 22, 2017 Cloudy and then rainy.
At work taught in the first period. Apathy prevails in the daytime section.
No matter how hard you try, they will not participate. Maybe they have
their reasons. I will just do what I believe is good to teach.
Tuesday, November 21, 2017 Fair
Got a flu shot. It was cheaper than last year becasue I am legally an
elderly person. I have mixed feelings about that.
Monday, November 20, 2017 Rainy and then cloudy.
Today was the deadline for the second term. Corrected dozens of reports,
helped one student after another with their reports, and gave a couple
of students makeups. This morning I could not jog because of the rain and
also becasuse there were some old ladies practicing tai chi.
Sunday, November 19, 2017 Fair
Weeded the backyard again, feeling tipsy. It was quite windy. Burs stuck
to my gloves and clothes. Pesky burs!I got three large grabage bags of
weeds. My wife did not give me a hand. She did not even lift a finger as
is often the case with her.
Saturday, November 18, 2017 Rainy and then cloudy.
Virtigo started on Wednesday. A bit of a stomachache, too. Maybe due
to my neck illness and stress at work. Even when I lie down, it happens
now. What was exepected to come came. That is it. No jogging because of
the wet weather and stayed indoors all day.
Friday, November 17, 2017 Fair
This morning I woke up, not feeling quite well. I felt kind of dizzy.
At work I felt this tipsiness. I wonder if this is due to my neck illness.
Last night I had a stomachache, too. This morning it did not leave me.

I have concluded that the current system in which we teachers and also
these students are involved makes us unhappy. I am fully fed up with this
system. Come to think of it, the present global scenery, too, never makes
us feel happy. Nowadays, the pursuit or conquest of happiness is nothing
but pie in the sky. Then at least schools oguht to be where we can be happy,
but the things are, school is no exception.
Wednesday, NOvember 15, 2017 Fair
No classes to teach today. A C English Ⅱstudent came for his retest.
Corrected some reports and finished making the finals both in Basic Engllish
and C English Ⅱ.
Tuesday, November 14, 2017 Rainy
Rainy days Mondays always get me down is the title of a Carpenters song.
Today was such a day. Yesterday I was active, and today I was inactive.
Actually, I am rather an active person.
Monday, November 13, 2017 Fair
This morning went to the health center and then to the ward office to
do some red tape. At work i had a couple of bosses visit my class, which
is mandatory. I hate it, thougn. This is a surveillance society, you know.
There is little breathing space at work. I also handed in something they
told me to. Well, I have gotten through one big part of the work. From
Wednesday on, I can work almost my own way until the end of this school
year. And then that's it. Thank heavens!

Jogged for 40 minutes as usual this morning. Before noon went to the
supermarket to buy something for lunch. Did some household chores, too.
Saturday, November 11, 2017 Cloudy
Just jogged slowly for 20 minutes in the park, and then off to the clinic
for neck traction. Then biked to a different place to get something. It
took me about 20 minutes. Bought something for lunch and supper on the
way home.
Friday, November 10, 2017 Fair
Just one class to teach in the first period. Now all the handouts for
the 3rd term are ready. I can take at least one hour off on Mondays, Wednesdays,
and Fridays. Now I have little attachment to the daytime section students
in general. They are different from nighttime students.
Thursday, November 9, 2017 Fair
At work there was a rap session. I made some handouts, too. Also printed
quite a few attendance slips. On the way home did some shopping for cat
food and later also human food.
Wednesday, November 8, 2017 Rainy
Just one class to teach and in the 2nd and 3rd periods was what is called
a joint homeroom. I did not find any of these fun. This school is undergoing
a qualitative change for the worse, too, Needless to say, I would rather
not work any more, but life goes on. There are still some who are good
at heart, but evil one are on the increase-a refelction of society? This
reminds me of the low level daytime high school I onece worked at as a
young teacher. Nothing but a nightmare, though.

Saw my family doc for the month of Novemeber in the evening. In the morning
the usual neck traction. I am almost sick and tired of the system which
governs the whole school. There is little warmth in there. Just some control
freaks constructed it.

It says in the Bible that you should not throw pearls before swine. Nowadays,
most students are ignorant of what it means to learn English. So are young
English teachers. What a pity!

US President Trump is visiting Japan now and there are lots of bomb threats.
What a president of a big country! In case there is a contingency on the
Korean Peninsula, I wonder what will happen to us. President Trump does
not rule out a military option. What kind of military action does he have
in mind?

Viewed some video recordings. According to one of them, if you grip something
for two minutes at a third of your full strength, you can lower your blood
pressure. Repeating it twice with each hand a day and doing it every other
day will do.
Friday, November 3, 2017 Fair
Did a lot of cleaning at home. Wiped the ceiling and walls to remove
dust. Mopped the floor. Cleaned the balcony and weeded the backyard. Of
course, did my super slow jog in the morning, too. I have decided to shift
my energies from work to home.
Thursay, November 2, 2017 Fair
Early in the morning had to visit a different hospital. Without going
back home, went straight to work. Attended two boring meetings as usual
and talked with the boss, realizing that the quality of students at this
school has really changed. I am sick and tired of the daytime section because
most students are 'dead' in class . No, they are sick. I am not a shrink
but just a teacher. But come to think of it, there is something wrong with
education in this country. Schools are not for students to study and learn
but they have been sort of militarized. It is about time for me to leave.
I just try to be faithful to the teaching of English.
Wedensday, November 1, 2017 Fair
Gave some students retests or makeups. Marked their exam papers and inputted
the results. Also corrected dozens of reports. Took one hour off and was
on the way back. The third term begins next Monday.
