Richard Marx seemed to disappear from the scenes after the release of his 1997's "Flesh And Bone" (except for his greatest hits albums). But in fact, Marx has started his own record company "Signal 21 Records" and worked behind the scenes writing and producing for other artists, including Laura Pausini, Sarah Brightman, *NSYNC, Kenny Rogers, Barbra Streisand and Vince Gill. Marx has also been writing and recording songs for this album "Days In Avalon". This album was finally released in the US on October 24, 2000 - this is his first album on his own independent label "Signal 21 Records".
Musically, "Days In Avalon" is of the same lineage as each of its predecessors in the 90s. However, this album shows that Richard Marx has grown lyrically and musically as an artist. In fact, this album contains catchy hooks, haunting melodies, and musical variety - every song on this album is indeed of the utmost quality. So this album should not disappoint you. I feel "Days In Avalon" is indeed the album people have expected Richard Marx to make. If you have appreciated any of his predecessors in the 90s, you must be impressed with this album. So don't miss it!
