Peter Cetera had disappeared from the scenes after the release of his 1995's "One Clear Voice" (except for his greatest hits album). Because Cetera was kind of disgusted with his situation with the record company he was with; Cetera felt he was doing music no one was hearing. So he had taken all the time off to do personal things. After numerous inquiries regarding plans to release new material, and after hearing his past hits countless times on the radio, however, Cetera felt that now was the time to do some music. After he decided to do the project with Michael Omartian for the first time since his 1986's "Solitude/Solitaire," Cetera commenced writing and recording songs for this album "Another Perfect World." Incidentally, collaborators on this album include Chris Pelcer as well as co-producer, Michael Omartian. This album was finally released in the US on March 27, 2001 - this is his first album on his new record label 'DDE, Inc.'.
Well, to tell the truth, I think every song on this album is not as great and remarkable as the love ballads and songs from the late 1980's that many Peter Cetera fans have loved to appreciate. In fact, "Another Perfect World" is of the same lineage as each of its predecessors in the 90s. As Michael Omartian's great production gives this album more up-to-date vibes than Peter Cetera's recent albums, however, this album should not disappoint you. If you have yearned for sophistication in music and melody, you must be impressed with this album. Hearing is believing. If you haven't purchased the album yet, go buy it!
