Please click this photograph to see a video (about 2 MByte) of degranulation of mast cells (indicated by allows). This reaction is one of causes of type I allergic reactions such as hay fever, urticaria, etc. High resolution version (4.2MByte) can be found in my briefcase as degranulation-large.

Professor: Mitsunobu MIO, Ph.D. His main research interest is in immunopharmacology, especially in the cell biology of degranulation of mast cells and/or eosinophils. He is responsible for the teaching of "Pharmacology", "Pharmacology Student Practicals", "Introduction to Information technology" and "Student Practicals for Basic Physics and Biology". He likes driving cars (Peugeot 206XS), listening to Jazz music and drinking coffee. His major publications can be found on PubMed here.
