South Africaは仕事で訪問するプランまで作りながら残念ながら行けなかったところです。多分これからもないと思うのでとても残念。European people はリゾート地としてや新婚旅行などでいくのにAfrica全般は手頃なところのようです。わたしの知っているbusiness相手の人も2〜3人ケニアなどに行くという話を聞いたことがあります。8時間ぐらいでちょうどいいのだそうです。 ここのところSouth Africaがwineの産地として伸びてきているという話です。PaarlというのはCape Townのすぐ近くの都市とのこと。 Mild weather and moderate amounts of rain make a perfect climate for South Africa's lush, sprawling vineyards. And with close to 200 wineries, connoisseurs and curious visitors have plenty of options. First human tests of AIDS vaccine to begin within weeksという時代がついにきました。AfricaはAids問題が深刻な問題となって、中には国家そのものを揺るがすようなほどのレベルになっている国々もあることは日本ではあまり知られていません、というより日本人は関心を持っていません。 Developed in partnership between researchers at England’s Oxford University and the University of Nairobi, the vaccine is one of several being studied with funding from the nonprofit initiative. このようにしてとくにKenyaで研究は進んでいます。 Based on genetic material taken from the virus, the vaccine targets HIV's "A" strain, the dominant form found in Kenya and many other parts of the continent. 癒し系のsinger, EnyaのVideo Interviewです。 あたらしいalbumn 'Day Without Rain'をリリースしてCNNのinterviewに、その美しい歌声をfeatureしながら答えています。 Enyaは、また、 The Irish chanteuse kept afloat with such follow-up albums as "Shepherd Moons" (1991) and "Memory of Trees" (1995). のことについても話しています。 彼女の歌声をethereal, lush, というwordsで表現していますが、まさしくそのとおりです。 私の好きなsingerのひとりですが、数ヶ月前にたまたまいっしょにテニスをした方が表参道でantique shopをやっているそうですが、何度かEnyaが日本の古いものを買いにきて、いろいろ話したそうですが、やはりあの声と同じように、心の優しさが伝わってくるような人柄だったと言っていたことを思い出しました。 |

たまにはTokyo発のfashion newsを。 Benetton, the Italian clothing label known for its aggressive advertising, opened its new flagship store earlier this month in the heart of Tokyo's fashionable Omotesando district. 個人的には、sportsのときでないとちょっとというdesignだとは思いますが、Benettonの企業としてのdriveにはfashion界においては、まったく新しいやり方をとってきた勇気にいつも感心してしまいます。 Benetton Group has been recently opened new, larger stores worldwide, including several in Italy. The new Tokyo megastore is its first in Asia. 次の内容は？？ですが、一般的な日本人を対象にした場合は“正解”ということでしょうか。 Watanabe knows Japanese consumers figure "if it's made in Italy, it's almost as good as Armani." But does the "Armani with a Gap price tag" approach still work? Perhaps.
