Japanese TV program "A" was ended.
There were many famous people like Aya Matsuura and Hiroshi Kume in the TV program. It was very expected at first but ended in just 3 months.
The main topic of this program is introducing Asian culture of daily life. Especially for China, Taiwan, Korea and Thailand.
For example, how to move house in Seoul (Korea), how to commute in very crowded city in Bangkok (Thailand), how to date in Taipei (Taiwan).
They were introduced from the aspect of how they actually do that in their way. Do you know how people stop their hiccups in those countries?
There are reporters who are ordinary people like a student or office worker in each country. They report and show a country specific situation and culture in their daily life. They can communicate to the TV studio in Japan by internet video phone live. The conversation was translated to all of other languages by several simultaneous interpreters and they put translated sentence (like a web chat) to be displayed on TV. There were such an excellent system and famous people on the TV program.
There are many TV program about history and culture.
But most of them don't focus modern Asian culture in daily life. We also have no chance to study it in school and no topic in a textbook. Because it is too small thing and looks trivial.
We can imagine and analogize their geography, climate, people, way of thinking and their character from the aspect. They are really existing with living people in other countries but same time of your live. There is no old image or sometime strange bias.
It's not "from past to present". It's a way of making image and thinking of them from present to past.
"A" became boring week by week and finally ended. The topic introducing the Asian culture was faded away.
It might have been adjusted audience preference to be catchy. Many other elements flew into original main topic. But they didn't work at all. It looks like an inhibitor for me.
I'm afraid this kind of TV program won't appear for a while due to the failure of this expected TV program.
I was motivated by this ending. Have a broad horizon.
